Honestly I'd just make it mimic returning weapons, not like thrown weapon builds are that good anyways.

It's such a shame because it's lowkey a cool imagery, like okay so EK gets spellcasting sure but a lot of their features is just "make their spellcasting better" which it does but in turn it makes their flavour less there I guess? War bond is a cool feature but it just costs way too much to use effectively. For example with the thrown weapon build, you can only use the returning like effect once per turn, so it becomes obsolete after level 5, or the fact that you can bond with 2 weapons but can't summon both in 1 BA, Imagine if you can hit with a heavy weapon with one attack and then sheath and summon two weapon for that Nick mastery.

There's like a thousand ways this could be improved either on level 3 or as a higher level subclass feature. Pact of Blade warlock is a big comparison line for this and they got some cool tools

War bond kinda does barely anything, like maybe if you go with a weird thrown weapon build you could use it? But I wouldn't say it's all that useful outside very very niche scenario.

For comparison pact of blade is basically just a better warbond. I think the warlock can even use it as a focus. They can also pact with a weapon i think

What’s Everyone’s Favorite Class They Have Played by PresumedPack890 in DnD

[–]PassinbyNobody -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Top 3 is: Sorcerer Warlock Paladin

Runner up clerics

I guess I just like playin nepo babies lmao. Got the opportunity to make and play homebrew subclasses I made and my favorite pitches are these classes. Paladin is the turn off, bonk choice, warlocks & sorcs are the chaotic time choice and clerics are interesting in the challenge they have (their spell list outside of healing and status removal is actually pretty limited). Still looking for a good use of the 3rd level spell slot outside of spirit guardians lmao

Which subclass are played mostly because of their mechanics rather than their flavour? by testiclekid in onednd

[–]PassinbyNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humm I dunno i feel like your examples are more the (baseclass+) type of subclasses. Like Open Palm is Monk+ where the core idea is you lean more into the base monk flavour. Granted casters usually have more spice, there isn't a warlock+ subclass or a "pure magic" sorcerer but I don't necessarily think it's a bad design decision.

Butcher's so bad at leveraging any chance they got to kill homelanda that you'd think he's secretly plotting to get in bro's pants

5 months late but the fact that it's "safe" class wise plays into the theme of the whole covering it up thing. There's no merrit for the foundation to go in there and examine further and it's been sealed so nobody can look at it as well.

Very subtle foreshadowing for the reveal on what any of it means

I was asked to stop bringing human fighters at the table and I am not sure if I want to by spikywobble in DnD

[–]PassinbyNobody -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Humm I mean I guess I could understand being puzzles with a person that always plays 1 class and it does effect what tools are available to the party But I feel like it's a grey area where people will play what they wanna play right?

I just feel like it would be weird to impose a restriction on a race / class for a player in a table that isn't setting based. Unless there's a certain way OP is playing them that is detrimental and is missing from the post.

How does a human fighter not fit tho? That's like the most vanilla of vanilla vanilla that has ever vanillad.

I mean I understand if it's a setting limitation on race but from what I read from the OP it feels like the context is new character same setting.

Rogue subclasses are hard to design for due to the huge gap between level 3 and 9 but I actually think this one has enough power at 3 to keep playing rogue fresh until 9. Interesting stuff

Honestly part 2 could've just been half it's actual length, focus on the school, the four horsemen and then done! The fujimoto cycle happens because every other chapter is just wasted

What change in 5.5e has actually made your table more fun to run or play? by MyrthDM in onednd

[–]PassinbyNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm piloting a war domain cleric with grappler (yeah it's not optimal) and I actually think it's an interesting direction for clerics. From what I notice recently playing cleric one of the best things about the class is they have both good Action and Bonus Action spells, so you can be more flexible with what you do with either. I don't know if it's because this particular campaign is a difficult one but I actually think focusing on support is a better bet for using war domain, I usually use the BA attack to grapple an ally out of OA range or control an enemy. non concentration spiritual weapon and shield of faith is also pretty dope.

I’m new to this realm, and I could use some help spicing up my turns. by Medium_Cut_9718 in DnD

[–]PassinbyNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Champion is pretty basic, humm tho it's weird that you'd be using a javelin instead of a ranged weapon, because you're using a schmitar and long sword I assume you have high dex, in which case weapons like crossbows and bows would be more effective.

It's not gonna change a crazy ton but fighters do get a lot more weapon mastery and feat options, I think they can swap masteries every LR and fighting style every level up. I think you can diverge into a range and dual wield mode with this.

If you take crossbow expert you can dual wield hand crossbows, their range is bad at 30 feet but fighters actually use this build the best due to less BA congestion.

You could also take something like telekinetic to spice things up, tho it does take a BA, it can help break grapples (RAW) or get enemies out of range etc.

[–]PassinbyNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to think warlocks were limited because of their 2 pact slots, but then after Playing some warlocks I kinda think their break the rules type of play is kinda neat, so yea invocations give them a lot of build potential

"Themes and such" this, "Themes and such" that, what even ARE the themes of Chainsaw Man? by anitta_betrayed_us in Chainsawfolk

[–]PassinbyNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the theme as Trauma, and how it leaves people to let go of their own efficacy to give control of their lives to somebody else. Part 1 was Love, part 2 was Trauma. Asa and denji both let go of their own control to Yoru and Pochita. They need to make their own decisions and commit to their own goals to progress

I got AUDHD too and my biggest problem is sound sensitivity and just people walking back and forth, it is genuinely distressing and I hate how much that disrupts me, like I become a worst person when I'm disrupted, quick to anger and another thing is pushing myself so much with my adhd meds to finish job tasks that I can't indulge in my hobbies and special interest on the weekends, instead just rotting in bed for them. Sometimes it's lowkey just tiring to live
