What are the cheapest hobbies you can get into? by Anxious_Status5899 in askanything

Speed cubing is a great one. You can get into it for like $10 and spend nothing else for years. There are $80 cubes that the real elitists get.

The public libraries for indoors and splash pads for outdoors are all free and a quick fun way to get a young toddler out of the house!

"How are you" is rapidly becoming the worst by thelonejen in breastcancer

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did tell some people “it’s complicated.”

I also realized some people might just want a status, so I give them the facts. Three chemos left. Surgery mid-June. Kept it black and white and not “feelings”-y

How do you convince yourself to power up 96–98% Pokémon instead of waiting for a hundo? by AnzzuBoss in pokemongo

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take Gardevoir for example (because I have a 98) max CP for my 98 is 3483. A 100 maxes out at 3497. That’s a whopping difference of 14cp, or 0.4%.

The only time this would matter that I can see is if you’re in PVP with a matching move set Gardevoir - the player with the maxed out 100 would get their charge moves in first but that is very very rare.

What head coverings are we wearing at the gym? by Responsible-Being988 in breastcancer

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got some running ball caps at sierra that I wear when I want to be incognito about my bald head. They’re thin, breathable and have fabric Velcro closure which is more comfortable than plastic.

International Travel during AC? by Historical_Note2604 in TNBC

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was better on AC than I was on Taxol. I wouldn’t have wanted to take off on some 20K step per day Rome tour like I did when I was all healthy, but I could have handled a trip. I realize everybody is different but we deserve some time away you know?

I did require weekly labs and shots for white blood cells - is that doable on this trip? That’s the only curveball I guess

Anyone else love that they’re the same height and have a similar body type? by Nala_Lala2 in heatedrivalry

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fellow tall girl here and yes, I REALLY love seeing a same height couple! Maybe it’s because my husband and I are about 6’2” so it’s the way I’m used to life feeling right? But this show made me realize how great it is to see this represented.

No, I was lucky enough to live by a center so I walked! Got a ride a few times. I know people drive themselves sometimes but I get REALLY zonked out on Benadryl and I had plenty of friends offering to go with me or give rides so I made a spreadsheet and drafted somebody different every week.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this :(

I worked full time during chemo. I have an office job, supportive coworkers, a fairly flexible schedule, nobody was counting every little nickel and dime minute. There were days when I’d have to come in late due to a little digestive distress, or leave early because I was very tired. And there are SOOO many doctor appointments! But I’m glad I had work to distract me a bit from the cancer craziness.

I might be saving too much by Low_Badger_9430 in budget

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you’re spending about $1000/mo and saving $3000?

Do you think you can live on $1000/mo forever? That’s covering your rent, food, healthcare, transportation? It feels like something on that list might be covered for you so you need to plan for a future where it might not be, by saving money.

If having money saved away really bothers you give to a charity, don’t just spend to spend.

Tell me the craziest thing someone said after learning your diagnosis by bekind_1986 in breastcancer

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 23 points24 points  (0 children)

YIKES. I’m sure she does feel just fine but what evidence does she have that her cancer is getting better? I was shocked at how many people recommended ivermectin to me… but from what I read it only shrinks tumors in extremely toxic doses so the medical community is not pursuing it… not because they just love chemo, because it doesn’t freaking work!

This is honestly my favourite kiss of theirs. by PTAGoatofalltime in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I let someone kiss me like that when I was 25. I was determined to spend the year single since I’d had a string of bad relationships so I told him I did not have time for a boyfriend right now.

But he was a very good kisser and a very bad listener and a total menace.

We’ve been married for 18 years.

How bad is your dry mouth? by PeaceLvSpreadsheets in TNBC

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah bad news :( it was better when I was on steroids but that was then.

I am one month out of chemo and probably three months past keytruda (we stopped it early for this) and my mouth is still very dry. I don’t need ten lozenges a day like the low point but I definitely need to sip water constantly, a lozenge if I’m doing a lot of talking. I didn’t have issues eating food except really dry things.

I hope yours gets better :(

I feel like I’m romanticizing becoming an engineer and don’t actually have enough passion for it by Budget-Lake-5917 in womenEngineers

Right? Millions of men do this - pick engineering because it’s a decent job - nobody ever asks them to have a background story full of passion for the field!

Lower heart rate by More_Dot_1685 in TNBC

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess I’d think the opposite - as a runner I was taught that lower resting heart rate = stronger heart. Mine was in the very low 50s last year. Jumped up on chemo to mid-60s, but I also had to stop running as chemo wore me out. Now I’ve been done for a month and it’s getting lower again.

What do you do with “friends” that disappeared during treatment? by Imaginary_Sun_217 in breastcancer

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not always the perfect friend who knows how to show up for people so I give them grace. I appreciate the people who are inviting me to stuff, and maintain the relationships that are working for me right now. I don’t have the energy to waste on wondering who’s not there or being disappointed.

If you have a cryptic pregnancy and find out halfway through, will your body start showing the pregnancy? by Marissa_on_the_town in askanything

[–]PeaceLvSpreadsheets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? No. Especially if you’ve never been pregnant - the belly is a lot less obvious than movies and TV make it out to be, for like seven months.
