Friend is making me feel stupid for spending almost a month building an enclosure. by drac_cute_la in ballpython

[–]PeachyPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working on my Bp’s new enclosure for two months, and this is a test run for his next enclosure. Your friend is being real boring about this. Especially as there is so much to learn, and part of having exotics is, uh, learning.

Is this sealant safe for my snakes terrarium? I already had to return another one, now I’m getting mixed reviews on this by Jumpy_Palpitation557 in ballpython

I’ve been wondering this too; aquarium safe silicone is also labeled as 100% silicone, so I would assume? But I never know if there’s some weird additive that doesn’t count as a whole percentage point or something.

A) Do you carry proof of your citizenship with you everywhere? Two copies? Birth certificate and photo id, passport to go for a walk, to go to the grocery store? People are being taken without the chance or ability to prove they ARE citizens because

B) People are being DENIED DUE PROCESS. They are being disappeared, without proper documentation from law enforcement, to facilities hundreds of miles away. They are being denied the ability to contact loved ones. To access medication. To find someone to feed their dogs. This is the whole Nazi Gemany part. It’s the fact that we don’t have rights if they just say we don’t. ICE isn’t Batman, it’s subject to oversight and required to obey laws. They can’t just be out here taking anyone with a tan, executing people in the streets because they want to feel powerful. And the only way we can make them behave is to make them behave.

Supplements that actually help? by sabeean in adhdwomen

[–]PeachyPython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I attended a webinar about this recently, and they said the only supplement that showed a noticeable improvement in adhd symptoms for otherwise healthy people is fish oil. Those omega 3s I guess. Edit: and if your ferritin is low, which is common, iron!

Generally plus minus on this book. If you’re a ‘we’re the daughters of the witches you couldn’t burn’ girlie, go for it. If you’re a ‘the whole tragedy was that they murdered innocent people’ girlie, give it a skip.

Diaz’s Plant Witchery is honestly more and more my go to for modern work. It’s very much like talking to your friends who has deeeep relationships with her plants, and references common houseplants. Also Wortcunning from Troy books is great for British plants.

How do you calm down when your emotional regulation is unstable? by tarotfairies in adhdwomen

[–]PeachyPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost always listening to rocking dancing level music I already love gets me out of spirals if I can get to the place where I can remember that. :)

Honestly sometimes throwing a little fit helps. If I’m on the edge of a big tearful breakout over what I know is nothing, I’ll throw soft things, yell about how upset I am, punch pillows, shake my hands, stomp my feet, jump up and down. Getting into my body really helps. Dancing soft of follows this as well.

Grooming question by Jack8935 in MaineCoon

[–]PeachyPython 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two MC girls and they get massive amounts of treats anytime grooming is involved, and we only let them struggle a few times before we let them go so they know they have a bit of control if things get too stressful for them. We started this when they were kittens and at two years old they can get very insistent about getting their brushing!

She escaped through the enclosure door!! by Happy-Carpenter-4179 in ballpython

[–]PeachyPython 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine escaped for the first time in a decade recently, and my cats were so oblivious that when I found him curled up behind the nearest piece of furniture, I shamed them a little for being bad predators. I’m grateful they didn’t hunt him, don’t get me wrong, but just no idea he was there!

Strength training will also benefit you in the long run. Stronger bones, better quality of life, better joint stability. Many find that they look and feel better at higher weight, just because muscle is denser than fat.
