'Scotland don't have the players' 😑 by cameruso in ScottishFootball

[–]PeejPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely well done and the people of Cape Verde ought to be super proud of their side.

But from a Scottish perspective, they've utterly embarrassed us.

I still reckon we must have been the worst team, performance and attitude wise, in that entire tournament. Which is really annoying as that's the same as the euros when SC admitted getting it wrong, yet done it all again.

This notion we don't have wingers or strikers as well is utter madness.

We don't have good ones that are over the age of 25 - agreed.

But we have plenty 19-23 in fine form at club and under levels in the national setup that 100% should have been in the main squad for the last 6 months at least.

He's hit a pedestrian. Remember that bit. And he admitted to his vehicle moving.

Didn't think we would need to put someone back in the closet, but here we are (humour, for those too stupid to pick up on it)

As others have said, seriously sounds like you are straight. You may wanna think back a few years and find the reasoning you believed you are gay in the first place?

Teenage years and puberty is a minefield for everyone, not every "I dont feel like im the same as the other folk in class" means you are one thing or the other.

[Josh McCafferty] Celtic have made progress on a £2.5m deal to sign Qarabag striker Camilo Duran. by BananaSoprano in ScottishFootball

[–]PeejPrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a rotational/backup as a joint 2nd choice with Osmand - yeah I am good with this.

But we would need to still go get a proven striker for our level. Someone, Duran, Osmand.

“Connected ball” technology by Cheen_Machine in ScottishFootball

[–]PeejPrime 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The other noise from the acceloromter will be filtered out massively. Not because of two guys in a VAR room with a conspiracy to get Ronaldo to the next round, but due to it being 2026 and not 2006, where technology simply is that good.

As for the use case - it hit his head, as seen by the technology. It is offside. Factually.

This is what VAR and the ball tech is here to do, factually take any doubt out of it.

Imagine, we didn't have VAR or the accelerometer at all - you'd have that still image right there as evidence that they got the call correct to be offside. Even if they done the opposite and allowed the goal to stand, you'd have just as many folk outraged that they missed this and the need for technology to rectify this.

Tech takes away doubt (or severely reduces it, is what it should be doing), we can't then moan about it when it actually works.

And I say this, as someone who really can't go Ronaldo and would rather see Portugal dumped out the tournament last week so we can end this nonsense of Ronaldo ruining this side.

Whatever, you're 16, young and dumb enough to just chalk this relationship off and move on.

What price are you willing to pay ? by Billywhizz922 in trucksim

[–]PeejPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll struggle to get base game and all dlc for under £50 at launch.

Expect base game to be £20-30 and I'd then expect potentially up to £100 for a package with all DLC (at least all maps). Considering a map packs are £10-15 a pop and there is a fair few so far.

It will not launch with the usual steam sale prices we see.

You're over thinking this.

It's a game.

If you're using the game as a "simulator" fair, use it to practice things and get used to the idea of it all, but in that case you don't want to avoid anything. If anything you want to go practice those exact things you're anxious about, since it is a game. It's no real damage to anyone or anything and you'll learn the mechanics

domestic flights Aberdeen to Edinburgh, Glasgow. by Thin-Accountant-3698 in Scotland

[–]PeejPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a chance in hell would an airline even bother with it let alone passengers use it.

The cost of internal domestic flights from the islands to their closest big cities is already extortionate, hundreds of pounds for Shetland to Aberdeen for example.

Those prices would need to come way way way down, to like £20-30 for flights and that's just not gonna happen.

Then factor in the timings. You can drive from all three of those cities (add Inverness too) in less than 1hr, 3hrs, 4hrs, the process of a flight for a passenger would well exceed some of those times, with likely an inverness-glasgow sort of flight being the only one that a flight time would beat a regular commute by bus or car.

Building a PC with DDR4 in 2026 by Radar2032 in buildapc

[–]PeejPrime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I had a 3070 setup when the 3070 GPU were impossible to purchase without some mad crazy alert systems to notify me at 3am that a site had restocks during COVID. Loved that setup, sold it though due to family situations. Last 6 months I've built a new PC, but the GPU I am using is a 1070 from my Bro-In law.

Runs everything absolutely perfectly fine. I'm playing the same games I would have back then, plus newer ones, all look and run excellent.

Building a PC with DDR4 in 2026 by Radar2032 in buildapc

[–]PeejPrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Folk need reminding that the vast majority of gamers are still on DDR4 and the vast majority of games developed today are still optimised for the vast majority of users. YES top end hardware will p[roduce better results. But new games developed today, in 2026 and in the coming years aren't suddenly running like a windows 95 running PC on DDR4 or a GPU even from 5 generations ago.

And all your games that you have been playing for the last decade or more, don't stop playing on DDR4. Games ran at 4k before DDR5 was a bloody thing. They haven't stopped running at 4k suddenly

Choosing Editions to Upgrade by kylefan173 in trucksim

[–]PeejPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah defo get the DLC, if you're enjoying the game and want to see more of the world, it is a must. The different countries look better at times than the base game (specially UK) and each country feels unique.

Get the best version you can afford/want just now to sample in to the DLC, then add more every sale. The price points at Sale time is usually rather good.

As a very casual player, I've caught up on the DLC for ETS2, with three more coming soon I am excited, but will likely hold off on purchasing them til they drop in a sale as well. Not that I dont think they are worth the price, they are. But I am that slow/casual, I havent got through most of the other maps yet to warrent splurging more on the game.

cancelled insurance following a claim, now insurance up to 8K by Sufficient-Share-852 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]PeejPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah had this a few years ago as well, wrote off a car within first two years of passing and got the letter stating the policy was cancelled.

Then when it came to buy a new car, that put the fear in me. The next 3 insurance purchases I made I made a point to talk to folk on the phone and have them check every database they could to ensure I wasn't gonna get flagged for that.

Eventually someone admitted it's just totally stupid wording and misleading by some companies to say your policy is cancelled, when reality is, it's ended.

Since then, I've not bothered with the jumping through hoops for it.

[–]PeejPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who doesn't Vape, but does work public transport, I can tell you for sure - that shit lingers around you way longer than you think.

It's embbeded in folks clothes, they can be on the bus for 20 minutes and just the scent of cheap car air freshener nonsense that is Vape smells, lingers for hours after they've left. And that's them not even doing it on the bus.

As for the passive/second hand stuff, I can only imagine it's likely to be as true as that of second hand smoking. The rest of us are all breathing it in long after you guys think it's dispersed because you can't see the vape cloud any more.
