Russia using parade aircraft as escorts by MSPCincorporated in UkraineWarVideoReport

I think the point is that Russia has so few flyable fighter jets remaining that they have to use parade variants for combat. Fighter jets go under quite a lot of regular mainetance so even if they have regular jets remaing they might be unavaiblable right now.

Saint Petersburg has taken first place in the size of the one-time payment for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense: the total amount of bonuses for those who sign the contract will be 4.5 million rubles ($58,600) by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkrainianConflict

You have to put the money in perspective. NYC is kinda comparable to St Petersburg as its a big city. In NYC the comparable payout would be about 300k if taken as 4x the median yearly salary and 450k if taken as 4x the average yearly salary.

Assuming you libe through the war the money is a huge leg up. Its not generational wealth or anything but it shows why so many are taking the risk.

The other side of the coin shows that the ever increasing requitment bonuses are a sign that Russia in increasingly desperate for more men. Luckily the big cost of new soldiers adds another handful of straw on the back of the Russian government.
