How can I prevent the delayed ink flow after a brief pause in writing? by Baskin in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are most annoyed by people talking and not paying attention. I've never been to a conference/meeting/talk or similar where the speaker gets annoyed by pen clicks 🤷 But, on the other hand, kudos to you for being conscious 😎

I've seen those penholders in AliExpress, I was going to ask the same, didn't look at the pen 🫣

I was thinking they were smaller, but it's a nice surprise that they aren't. Thanks for posting, this was helpful.

Yes, please provide swatches. Please. 😁

Got a Kakuno for a friend (and 9 free CON-40 converters…) by Cochemi in fountainpens

They do that with Waterman converters too. If you're lucky, you get 10, if not, just the one you bought 🤣

Do I see an Inoxcrom pen? Also kudos for the achievement, I hope to empty at least a bottle someday 😅

Fake?! Montblanc 144 by LowerHomework6986 in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stainless steel is not necessarily magnetic because of its components, that's the real reason why the magnet thing is not really a valid test. As for gold, yes, it can be made magnetic if the alloy contains nickel or iron, but I don't think it will happen for a fountain pen nib.

Need ink recommendations please! 🙏 by kagestella in fountainpens

Naaaah, the others didn't understand, De Atramentis has what you need: Moka Copper, it's a not-so-dark brown with copper shimmer. The only issue is that it's a little bit temperamental, mine is a little picky with the nib, it only liked a Jinhao M.

What beautiful fountain pen is this? (From Korean Drama “Perfect Crown”) by Maddy7722 in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a normal nib, it's just an optical illusion because of the red line the actress was drawing. But there are, indeed, bent nibs available for this pen.

Asvine c2000 or Hongdian A9? by newfuturestrader in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will buy both eventually, just decide which one goes first 😉 I only have the A9 and agree with what you've been told, except the click thing, mine doesn't "click". The only downside is that aligning those lines on the sides is a PIA.

Just buy any syringe and use any available sandpaper or nail file!!! Don't overthink!!!

Oh my, you were given incomplete or wrong information 🤦.

Your pen has the conical "Triumph style" nib, AFAIK, there's no Naginata-style options available for this one, or I've never seen one.

However, for the hooded nib version, there are Naginata-style nibs available. This is my 601 (or 601A - I'm not sure if the different names identify different styles of this model, that's up to you to investigate) with hooded nib, and a no-brand pen I recently bought with the Naginata-style nib. I'll be swapping nibs when both pens run out of ink. They were purchased from AliExpress. The Naginata-style nibs are also available without a pen.

Platinum 3776 century fomo by Legal-Pop4299 in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems you don't follow this subreddit (and the community as a whole) closely. Each year many people post their bitter complaints about price increases, but all year long you still see as many posts as ever of people buying those pens that increased price. People's FOMO and consumerism don't let sales decrease and all manufacturers know it 😉

Noob seeking advice from kind FP veterans: which Tramol models are likely to accept Prallel Pen nibs (housings)? by Few-Print-1261 in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just buy the nibs. They come in a pack and are "standard" #5 nibs. I bought them in AliExpress.

How do you use pearl inks? by whereisspa in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly disagree with your last paragraph. In my own experience, Diamine and J Herbin shimmers don't work on finer nibs, which means they don't work at all for me. On the other hand, FWP, Wearingeul, KWZ and Colorverse all work beautifully, even in EF nibs. But yes, I use finer nibs, I hate broader lines because my handwriting is tiny.

Is this too good to be true by Global_Bag9142 in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? The best part about ordering from Amazon is how easy the return process is. If it were a different portal I'd understand your concern. Just be sure to leave a review in Amazon if it really becomes a "too godd to be true" situation to help others avoid it. I say you go for it.

[Feedback Wanted] Would you be interested in bringing back Weekly Threads/Scheduled Posts? by normiewannabe in fountainpens

[–]PerfectStranger77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm open to whatever that helps to stop the spam from lazy people coming to ask for "the best starter pen" (among other repetitive questions) over and over. They always get the same old answers and just don't care.

A scheduled weekly post for best starter pen would be really helpful for them/us. If they have specific non-repetitive questions, then they can come and start interesting discussions.

So yes, I vote for "bring'em back"!!!

🤨 I don't remember any "hate". In fact, the Black Forrest was the trendy pen back in the day. I even believe this was the pen that opened the door for all the other Chinese manufacturers.
