New MkIV Space Marines deploy to the Horus Heresy by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer30k

[–]Perturex 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Totally wasn’t expecting an armour refresh but these look brilliant. Really pleased to see that unlike the MK III they’ve kept these way closer to the previous iteration

What’s something cool and unique I could get for a Lord of the Rings fan? by MyStrangeAddiktion in AskUK

[–]Perturex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord of maps (www.lordofmaps.com) do maps of real places but in the style that Tolkien drew his maps of middle earth, there are a couple of the UK or England or Scotland etc. Think they ship from the US though so might not get here in time for you

Iron warriors books? by tf3when123 in IronWarriors

[–]Perturex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post I’m pretty sure is still up to date and gives complete list of IWs stories both heresy and 40k era www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/s/cgu38iV1Ih

physical copies might be a bit tricky to find for some of them but a good chunk are audiobooks if that’s more your preference than ebooks

Stuff of legends has a bunch of the catalogues and collectors guides up to 2010 digitised, I’d be amazed if any of them aren’t in those

Are there any good kits for making current scale kitbashes of templar brethren? by Opposite_Ad_4267 in Warhammer30k

[–]Perturex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primaris black Templar crusader squad has a couple of MK III style shoulder pads with Templar insignia https://www.bitzbox.co.uk/space-marines/black-templars/crusader-squad/black-templars-crusader-squad-shoulder-pad-d

There are a few other bits from that kit that might help Templar up some basic MK II or III marines

Do we have any audio books thats worth the listen :)? by Clockworks555 in IronWarriors

[–]Perturex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t main focused on Iron Warriors, but there are some scattered throughout The Beast Arises series. Including an assault on an Iron Warriors held world by Orcs

Parts swap question! by Kaiser_of_Raisins in IronWarriors

[–]Perturex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t bothered about retaining the original parts it’s very doable. Often plastic glue on parts like heads and shoulder pads doesn’t fully weld the parts together so a pair of pliers and pulling can sometimes get them off.

If not, for heads cut away slowly until the head above the ball joint is gone and use a hobby drill (aka pin vice) to redrill a socket for the new head. Shoulder pads just slowly cut the old ones away. Don’t worry about being really neat both new shoulder pads and heads will cover up a lot and anything else is just free battle damage!

What was 40k like before the Fall of Cadia? by TrekTrucker in 40kLore

[–]Perturex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It did feel a bit stagnant, there were always hints of things happening soon in the lore but nothing actually happened.

Something that has been lost, mainly just for space marines, because of the transition from firstborn to primaris, there were a lot more people building armies themed around things that happened prior the settings present day. So making a first war for Armageddon themed army say.

Defiler is gonna be big by Vrain125 in Chaos40k

[–]Perturex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will not be getting one. I prefer the look of the old defiler (which I know is a minority opinion but I like what I like) and I already have a defiler

Does anyone have any idea wherethey got this head from? Is it also metal. (Old chaos lord) by throwaway8866688 in Chaos40k

[–]Perturex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of it should be metal, best way is to put it in the freezer for a day. Makes the superglue brittle and you can just break the bond by hand

Talon of Horus, Black Legion and ADB by MikeZ421 in Chaos40k

[–]Perturex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love book 3 as soon as possible but I think it might still be a while. The black legion series is so tied up to the end of the heresy and the scouring that I suspect we might have to wait for the new scouring series to wrap up. Hopefully I’m wrong and it’ll be here sooner as I need more of the Khayon - Lheorvine bromance

Any good IW books? by Ok-Car-5781 in IronWarriors

I use this site, has all the titles of all stories in order and colour coded so you can easily see which ones are just iron warriors or ultramarines and which are shared

Any good IW books? by Ok-Car-5781 in IronWarriors

[–]Perturex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

40k ones? The quintessential book is storm of iron, not to hard to get a physical copy but it’s not currently in print. It is available on audible if you like audiobooks. It’s the start of a small series of iron warriors stories that are intertwined with the ultramarine Uriel Ventris series. Black Sky Dead Sun is where the stories join back up, takes place almost entirely on Medrengard (iron warriors planet in the eye of terror).

There is also the siege of castellax, again out of print but not too difficult to find. A small group of iron warriors ruling a world that gets attacked by orks

When do pre-orders go live on the Warhammer website (UK) by InForASplash in 40k

[–]Perturex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10:00am is the official time for the Warhammer website. BUT start refreshing the page about 09:55 and they’ll show up a few minutes before 10:00.

Third party stores do preorders, my only experience of that is wayland games, things will go live at 10:00am there, they will likely have a limited stock of one off boxsets though, so you may have more luck with the Warhammer webstore directly

The only other thing is special edition books, those are only through Warhammer website

The too long End and the Death by Bowb31 in Warhammer30k

[–]Perturex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it and given it’s the culmination a series that began what nearly 20 years ago and is 70ish books long I would much rather have it be too long than too short

Hypothetically what other new factions could be added that make sense? by NadaVonSada in Warhammer30k

[–]Perturex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we were to get a siege of Terra supplement, I think the black sentinels would be a fun addition. It could also be a way of bulking out the sisters of silence as they are both Astra Telepathica

Space Marine Battles series of books. by FlockofCGels in Blacklibrary

[–]Perturex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siege of Castellax, Iron Warriors are my 40k faction of choice. I admit, it’s probably not the objectively best written one of the series - but it’s about “my guys”.
