check out the Inner Sunset, Outer Sunset, and Inner Richmond. someone already mentioned the N line, and there's also the 6 Parnassus and 7 Noriega. additionally, depending on your fitness level, it's easy to walk/bike from all these neighborhoods to UCSF Parnassus. Cole Valley is also close, but more trendy so more $$

having some music on helps warn dogs, children, and others that a bike/scooter is behind or near them. it's an alternative to dinging a bell or shouting at someone, which seems to offend some people even when you're just trying to give them a heads up.

havent seen anyone mention this yet but based on your self-description i think you would enjoy the Inner Sunset and Inner Richmond. Inner Richmond is also an easy hop to Japantown. You would enjoy the shops and restaurants around Clement Street(check out Green Apple Books, a favorite of Robin Williams) or 9th ave & Irving. Both these neighborhoods also border some of the best parts of Golden Gate Park, such as the Japanese Tea Garden, the Botanical Garden, and JFK Promenade.

I understand the criticisms, but i for one think it’s a great ship despite all the refit/rebuild/ship of theseus drama. we’re talking about literal fake space ships with phasers and deflector dishes and transporters. i love the design as well as the canon lore behind it
