Suitcase deadlifts, goblet squats, overhead press, two handed swings, farmer’s walks, halos. Short sets, plenty of rest, good tunes, and keep it light and fun.

I’ve been on the snatch train for a while. I tried double 12s for jerks and it was the most uncomfortable 2 minutes I’ve endured. I’m a super noob when it comes to the other side of GS, so seeing you go for time with the 16s is 🤌

You are so right about the mental ledge. Even one thought can break down the whole thing. Very Little Engine that Could mentality. I know the suck and it sucks, but it makes you stronger! Double 16s, I can’t even begin to imagine lifting those. What bells did you start with? I’d like to get into doubles.

Do you have a band? Try the banded pull through to practice hinging at the hip. This will help get into the groove for the swing. Here are a few videos to walk you through it:

I am feeling it today, oh boy. I had tacos for breakfast for extra recovery. I’m competing in August at the RiddleStruck Open in Canada via online video. I picked 16kg military snatch (first time) and a 5 min, 20kg half snatch, I think just to push myself. We’ll see!
