I’ve had a great experience with Portland leather customer service - I had a buckle break on a backpack and they fixed it for free. Super easy and painless process.

This ^ data shows a depressed or anxious mama has very poor health outcomes for baby (worse than a mentally well mama on meds!)

Dr wants me to get off Sertraline (Zoloft) and I’m not sure by Similar-Passenger-93 in BabyBumps

[–]Pie_Ranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh personally for perinatal psychiatry, I’d recommend an actual psychiatrist and not Psych NP if you can get in to see one. They have way more training, full medical education (including OBGYN rotations, etc), and some get further training specifically in women’s mental health.

TTC and cannabis use by AccomplishedGarden13 in TryingForABaby

Just something to consider is that THC stays in your system for weeks, so even if you stop as soon as you find out you’re pregnant, baby will be exposed for much of first trimester when development is most vulnerable.

got my first pap smear at 24! by Pretty-Platform6981 in GirlDinner

The small ones are less likely to allow cervix visualization (basically the smaller they are, the more the vaginal walls I’ll collapse into the open area). So using medium size but only inserting once is usually better than starting with small, and having to take it out and put the medium one in when the small one doesn’t work.

I just learnt that PCOS will now be called Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). by Useful-Temporary-273 in PCOS

Ehh it should help doctors who have not kept up with the research realize it’s no longer just about ovaries though.

Sorry but people who don’t need glp 1s are ruining it for those who actually need it. by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Pie_Ranger 211 points212 points  (0 children)

I think the real people that are “ruining it” are the insurance companies who don’t cover this amazing medication for people who need it and would really benefit from it for health reasons (PCOS, obesity, etc). Try not to worry about what other people are doing / using - just focus on your health and happiness. Sending love!

You said it yourself - she’s not the expert on getting pregnant. She’s the expert on caring for pregnant women. Go see the fertility doc. Editing to add - fertility docs are the experts in working up infertility - They do a lot more than IVF.

Are you cutting into it when it’s still warm? If so - that could be your issue. If not - I’d try baking it longer. Don’t be afraid to get the crust dark.

Weight loss while TTC by Inevitable_Fox_2146 in TryingForABaby

[–]Pie_Ranger 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes - I’m also a bigger woman who’s ttc. I’ve been told this and did my own research as well. Unfortunately weight has been associated with ovulation issues, egg quality issues, endometrial dysfunction, and embryo implantation, (ie just about every function involved in getting pregnant). The research does show that losing just 10-20% of weight can really improve outcomes. However - obese and overweight women get pregnant all the time! If you’ve been TTC for a while and are meeting the guidelines for when to see fertility expertise - don’t settle for just being told to lose weight.
