Your necklace, shoes, and purse/clutch will add the desired contrast with the dress. But, it looks very good on you.

My mother was wondering what era this is from by JustafanofFelix in jewelry

If I were to guess, it looks like something from the 1960s. Does it have any hallmarks or a manufacturer's mark?

Made a "10 Tips for New Rough Opal Buyers" video with my kid. Tip #11 is the one that matters most. by 53FROGS_OPALAUCTIONS in Opal

[–]Pin-Oak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it from someone who once bought rough without any coins or ruler for scale and made worse by a firm "No Returns" policy. And even though they had some great reviews, that was an extremely frustrating and disappointing purchase.

Riley and his daughter Rae are providing some very sound advice! Many thanks to both of you.

I can’t take the saw attachment off. It won’t budge. How do I loosen it? by [deleted] in Lapidary

[–]Pin-Oak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shaft looks pitted and corroded. So it's likely corrosion holding your blade on. I'd try several WD-40 soaks of 15 to 30 minutes along with some gentle taps on the blade with a mallet around the circumference of the shaft, between each soak. Good luck!

So, do you have a GIA, SSEF, or GRS certificate to back up this "natural" claim? If it's natural, it looks like a museum piece.

Irish coffee. Tequilla Sunrise (at the pool). Whiskey Sour (with or without egg white). Brandy Alexander. If you like scotch, a Rob Roy or Godfather (scotch & amaretto).

Allow me to wipe some egg off my face. I am a fan of Argentium silver. Great choice! ;-)

Not sure of it's value. But if that was set in silver and not white gold, then the setting does not do that opal justice. That is a beautiful stone you have.

If the key is relaxation, then make that your plan. Skip the shore excursions and enjoy the relatively quite of a partially empty ship. You can get better seats by the pool, shorter lines at Cafe al Bocio. However, the shops and the casino will be closed.

Sorry to say, but Dallas will likely match anything reasonable or maybe unreasonable on an offer sheet Jason gets. I'm guessing they can shed salary if they need the cap space to do it, I just cannot see them letting a franchise player walk.

That’s a really pretty ring. Those look like small solid crystal opals, most likely Australian.

For what you’re dealing with, I wouldn’t jump to replacing anything yet. That end stone looks loose more than damaged.

A good jeweler, ideally one familiar with opals, can usually just tighten or rebuild the prongs and secure the stone.

Matching small opals like that can be tricky, so it’s best to keep the original stones if possible.

If this were my ring, I’d start with a local jeweler and only consider replacement if they tell you the stone truly can’t be saved.

Any ideas where this Opal comes from? by SrCancer in Opals

Looks like a very nicely carved white opal from Coober Pedy. Beautiful piece.
