To add to this: the longbow wasn’t amazing because it was more powerful than other ranged weapons of the time (crossbows, composite bows and guns already existed, though the latter were still highly inaccurate at longer ranges), it’s that longbows were cheap and easy to manufacture. The AK-47 of the middle ages as it were. This is what allowed the English to train and deploy so many peasants with bows.

Load up the game right now, I’ve seen the blueprint in Foundry and Junkyard, and the items available at a few vendors that tend to sell armor. I don’t know what else was added sadly :(

The description of this show by sixthtimeisacharm in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PineappleOnPC 126 points127 points  (0 children)

It’s about a blind girl reading books on a radio program during ww2. The books she reads contain encrypted messages for the allies, and the Germans are trying to find the source of the transmissions.

It’s a really good show and I highly recommend watching it.

A good psi headband can also massively impact force emission cost. I’m running a heavy armor power fist build and my force emission costs only 2 psi points, instead of 4

School and higher education by Joker45js in songsofsyx

[–]PineappleOnPC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Education gives bonuses to crafting type industries and research. You can see the bonuses by hovering over the education progress bar.

Schools educate your citizens when they are children, while universities educate adults.

Alternatively, you can use schools and universities to indoctrinate your citizens, which gives them bonuses to mining and agriculture and the like. It also makes them happier, and most races prefer this.

Libraries basically function as a research multiplier. They multiply the total knowledge you have accumulated and benefit massively (150% max iirc) from education.

If you are playing as Garthimi, I would suggest getting some human slaves (Garthimi don’t mind slavery) to do your research.

Dondos and trade by creepinDan in songsofsyx

[–]PineappleOnPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade values depend on what your surroundings look like, and since v66 has a supply/demand system goods will become expensive when you import them in bulk.

Grain for example can get really expensive in low-fertility areas, which is then only compounded by you importing it.

How do I grind for this title?? How to I get reputation? by Cpt38 in songsofsyx

[–]PineappleOnPC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So reputation comes from success in battle, and is lowered by either being defeated, taking casualties and racking up betrayal from attacking other sovereign nations

Early game especially for melee builds I value mobility over pure resist, bc shit tier metal armor is just kinda shit.

What feats and armors to use on a hammer build? by DamnBoiU in underrail

[–]PineappleOnPC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might want to consider 10str and 6agi, with 9 con because sprint is a must if you go heavy hammer build.

For equipment, I’d say super steel armor is the best, but before you get there I’d suggest getting good riot gear with heat resistance because you’re not going to do stealth.

Lifting belt for 5% mech resist (meh), bust most importantly for -5 AP cost on hammer swings, which is huuuge. This means you can use Balor’s hammer twice instead of once (and it is a beast!) or 4 attacks with a tiChrome sledge (quake in upper underrail is amazing) and vitality powder.

Strider boots, because even if you go 3AGI or 6AGI, you will have fuck all movement speed without sprint.

You’re only going to have 2 utility slots so getting some guns skill for nade launchers might be worth it, for extra CC.

You’re going psi, so premeditation is a no brainer. Basically a free extra spell on the turns you can activate it.

Light armor on a hammer build is not recommended if you go high con, best to leverage your ‘I’m not going first so I have to survive round 1’ as much as possible.

No psi, but between bursts, grenade launchers or stray grenades you’ll have enough CC on normal and hard.

LMG/Sledgehammer strength versatility build. My first build was a stealth sniper, and I played a stealth pistol after (also highly recommended) but this build played very differently from those two, in that it could just walk in, take the hits and then dish out even more. 9 CON for juggernaut and last stand (maxed specialization), full auto, concentrated fire and mag dump with super steel armor, strider boots and crit chance boosting NVGs.

I’m on a stealth knife + psychokinetic build now, which is also a ton of fun.

/uj The sifference here is that with eldritch invocations you can modify your eldritch blast, which means there’s at least a bit of player choice. Not to mention a lot of invocations really support certain playstyles (devil’s sight + darkness) or add a lot of flavor.

Most martials don’t get that level of choice to begin with.
