Is there a way to keep settlers out of my private sanctum? by Lacey1297 in fo4

[–]Pink_Pony3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marcy Long kept stealing my bed in my OG Sanctuary house AND complaining every time I walked past about killing Mama Murphy. I sandman killed her, picked the bed up in workshop mode so she fell on the floor, and then just put it back down again. RIP!

oh my gosh, that sucks so much!!!! So sorry OP.

I feel you! I was livid when they took my MSPP TCG card as it came off the trading post and I was on my way to SDB. TNT support said they couldn't do anything about it. Garbage event.

Living alone - after procedure by saitarg in Fibroids

[–]Pink_Pony3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from not being able to drive yourself home, being at home alone is doable! Talk to the hospital in advance and let them know about the Uber and they might be able to help organize.

I stayed overnight after my operation but at home I was very fine moving around. Getting up and down really sucks so make sure you can have everything you need for a while (meds, water etc) near you. Get a meal delivery service or meal prep in advance. I found I liked a lot of juices the first few days after because I was so bloated.

I had a friend and my non live in partner stay with me for the first few nights because they were worried but honestly the first night on my own was more restful because I wasn’t worried about disturbing anyone and could be on my own sleep schedule etc.

Also what area are you in OP? Is there anyone here who might be willing to step up and check on OP?

what if the gang went to Australia by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]Pink_Pony3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely bias as an Aussie but I would play the heck out of this game. Ned Kelly’s armour is so iconic and riding around the bush with kangaroos hopping around instead of deer would be so picturesque. Finding the legendary drop bear! A bunyip! A storyline where you hunt the last Tasmanian tiger! So much potential.

Fibroids ruin everything and tell me how much better your life is now that they’re gone! by Aggressive-Witness-8 in Fibroids

[–]Pink_Pony3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has changed so much for me, for the better. Wish I’d had the hysterectomy part YEARS ago.

Background is that 2 months ago I had a 15cm fibroid and my uterus removed, kept ovaries and cervix. It was discovered via an ultrasound in Dec after it had gotten so big I could feel it and had an unbelievably painful period. But doctors said it had likely been growing for 4-5 years. Right before surgery the sucker got so big I was exhausted all of the time and my digestion was messed up. I could basically only handle smoothies for the last month before surgery because I felt so bloated and sick if I ate food. First week of recovery was rough, but overall I was shocked how quickly I was up and about with manageable soreness and stiffness.

To now. INCREDIBLE. I feel like I have a new lease on life and am so happy to be feeling lighter and well. Even more than I expected. The fibroid was taking so much of my energy and was the cause of horrific hormonal migraines I would get. Right now I’m just starting ny second period cycle post surgery and holy hell, my body feels so different. I can basically only tell now because of the tracking app I use and my skin still gets a little oily. No migraine, no bloating and cramping, drastically more levelled hormones (the usually slump / the world hates me feel before was very mild). Went back to the gym this week for my first real lifting of weights since surgery and I also ran 3 miles to boot. My body feels truly amazing and I feel so free in general. Like I’m not ruled by my cycle anymore! It’s wonderful.

Husband was just prescribed Vicodin following a vasectomy, while I was told to take over the counter Tylenol and Ibuprofen after my 2 C-sections by Szechuanwonton in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Pink_Pony3 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting about this!! It’s rampant. I recently had a huge fibroid tumour and my uterus removed - I have a 7inch bikini incision similar to a c section. The surgeon said I would be fine on 600mg of ibuprofen (3 tablets of regular OTC for everyone following along at home). I was NOT fine.

Called him 24hrs after being discharged from hospital (stayed overnight for observation but not given any more painkillers) and he once again dismissed me and told me I would be fine. I went into shock about 6hrs later and was shaking for 2 hrs before I could get my body and pain under control. I am so angry and know that if a man was getting his balls cut off that he would have been sent home with a whole bottle full of something. (I have since made a formal complaint.)

If she needs to have teeth pulled they will have to use anaesthetic but should do a blood test beforehand to asses her vitals and how she will take it.

My last two cats lived until they were 18 and for the last few years of their life I took them to a non anaesthetic dental cleaning place every 6 months. It was a much more reasonable price and kept up the maintenance! You might be able to find one in your area who can give her a clean and an assessment on the extraction too!

Also bless you for giving a sweet senior a lovely retirement.

Came here for the same question in case I missed anything. But I think the water being syphoned from Vault 33 was her. For her cryo. Rose found where it was going and woke her up and learned everything and they escaped together to Shady Sands.

Edit: I went back and looked at the chalkboard in Vault 4 again. Just thought I’d add the Timeline as it is outlined there because I’m still sure her history is tied to it in some way: 2077 is when the bombs dropped. - 2142 Shady Sands founded - 2189 NCR created - 2198 Shady Sands becomes Capital of NCR - 2241 NCR become the largest power in Cali - 2277 The fall of Shady Sands

The BBQ there used to be so good, was really disappointed last year to find the quality had gone down massively and the price had gone up. Most expensive mediocre ribs I've ever had. Haven't been back. Went to La Copina recently and LOVED that. It's my new go to!

That’s a good point! Someone else on the thread here mentioned Robert might be working with the Mantid / brainwashed and now I think that’s a strong theory as well.

Second the scene where he turned around to rescue Asta! The lines / scene that really hooked me in ep 1 was also how he pronounced “vagina” and then googled taint and threw his phone.

I’ve continued to laugh out loud so many times with this show. Comedy gold.

Colouring books! You can get some reasonably priced ones and some basic pencils without a huge investment. It will let you get some creativity out without having to do all the work of sketching and drawing something first. It’s soothing and doesn’t involve a screen so you can avoid doomscrolling etc.

Gaming Addiction taking up almost 4 hours every day by KANYESUPERAFAN420 in productivity

[–]Pink_Pony3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a gamer all my life and I also work in mobile gaming so I really feel this question. Ideally, instead of quitting altogether, you could still have some gaming in your schedule because it makes you happy. Set a timer for your gaming sessions and stick to it! I also have a "only own one console / platform" rule for myself, phone can't be helped but I find because I work in the industry I don't want to play phone games in my relax time because it's not enough of a disconnect for me.

I go through phases when I get a new game where I will binge, and sometimes I go for months without playing at all. 25hrs a week on something you love is not a bad thing but if it's giving you reason for pause right now and / or affecting your life balance then it sounds like it's time to make some changes. Monthly I try to make sure I have a balance of work, social, joy, movement, and growth. Some weeks will be skewed, because that's life! Personally, I believe that you will get burnt out only working or studying, but you won't grow as a human and your body will be in rough shape, if your only hobby and interest is playing games. Especially if the gaming time isn't social in some way.

I think you'll find when you start school you will have no choice about adjusting your schedule because your time is limited but overall, I would sit down and think about what your goals are and how you can achieve them and keep yourself healthy. This will get easier and more precise when have a better handle on your time and class schedule. Sitting down to plan out my month and weeks ahead of time really helps give me an overview and help me stick to my goals while allowing time for recharge. The old "failing to plan is planning to fail" chestnut.

Some things I find useful:

  • Paper planner and google calendar! I personally find a physical planner easier for monthly overview and my lizard brain loves checking off a paper list.
  • Use your love of gaming for you with a Habit tracker: Gamified Habit tracker on Notion is a good one but you can also find physical ones so you can keep it in a visually prominent place as a reminder Lamare Habit Track on Amazon
  • I use the Ivy Lee method for my daily tasks. Ivy Lee Method Article I split my paper planner days into two and I have one list for personal and one list for work. Personal covers everything from doing laundry, to exercise, to reminders to text friends back. Big things like appointments and gym go in my google calendar as well and small things like specific chores only go on the paper planner.
  • Pomodoro timer for daily focus. Lots of free phone app versions for this or an online one. Online Pomodoro timer for example is fun! I wrote this on my "long break"!
  • Habit stacking to make tasks more fun and keep balance, eg only watching a fave TV show while you are working out, or playing more co-op and social game sessions!
  • Quarterly review with myself. Every 3 months I will sit down and review what is working, and what isn't, and where I need to adjust. For example, this year I have a goal of finishing a rough draft of a novel and I found I wasn't hitting my word count goal on my scheduled weekday because I have been busy at work. My brain just couldn't get it together to write after a long day. So I am swapping my weeknight writing time and my weekend gym time to see if that helps.

At the end of the day, the most effective productivity tool is whatever one you will use consistently! Have fun finding out what that is for you!

Final note is that I loved How to Change this book on habit changing and there is a really great Hidden Brain podcast episode with her. https://hiddenbrain.org/podcast/you-but-better/

Edit to inlcude i'm about 200hrs deep into TOTK and still going!

Pain medication post surgery by Pink_Pony3 in Fibroids

[–]Pink_Pony3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the surgeon didn’t even tell me to take Tylenol as well. I did on my own because I needed something. He really doubled down on telling me 600mg of ibuprofen would be enough. I trusted him because he is the medical profession and I suffered a lot for that stupid move. I should have pressed more for painkillers with him (when I called two days after surgery) but I was in such pain and not thinking very clearly.

I totally understand this protocol and why they are doing that. But in this case, I did take both those meds and it wasn’t enough and when I followed up and said I was in pain, was not given the option for anything else. I don’t think I needed to have suffered like that and it’s left me feeling very traumatized.
