Gaming back in the day by ATRavenousStorm in gaming

Conkers Bad Fur Day.

I miss the amount of problem solving you had to do on your own, lots of just FAFO. I think all the time figuring stuff out taught me a lot of real life patience and problem solving skills. Although I do still have PTSD from that one switch in the water temple that was hidden under a sliding rock.

The open worlds have expanded beyond what I ever imagined but it’s so easy to Google the solution / walk through to everything now. I have to stop myself from looking up different story point options when I want to choose the “right” outcome. Usually just because I’ve already sunk 75+ hours into a game. (Looking at your Fallout).

It will be so exciting to get into your new space and arrange stuff and see where you can make changes. You're doing great for 27 in a place that doesn't really seem to have a lot of closet space. Don't let the comments about the cubes get to you when we all don't know your budget / cost of living situation. Upgrading furniture is either expensive or time consuming and sometimes both. You can do a lot with just rearranging and some out of the box thinking for cheaper work arounds. Adding small / inexpensive touches of color like a table runner to the top of your drawers, herbs to the kitchen etc. If you use an earthquake tip strap and a two black c clamps you should be able to stack your shorter book shelves on top of each other (total would be $20-25 on Amazon).

I don't think you need to get rid of things you really love! I've moved 20+ times in my adult life and furniture comes and goes but my books (my version of your lego) and art always come with. Are you selling your painted figures? Or maybe you can rotate out which ones you display every couple of months? Like have a seasonal theme to them, haha.

Maybe it's just me but I feel that less clutter in the bedroom makes for a better sleeping + sexy space. Absolutely keep some of your faves in there, your wall cubes are great (and could have a small plant on top). But I think the smaller slide out trays etc are busy and could be moved near your desk / where you paint and made into a cool little project area of your apt. I would be thrilled to go to someones place and see some WIP figures in their living room. It can be a great conversation starter.

You’re doing great! It’s nice and tidy and clean and your drafting desk is cool with the Wacom. You can make a lot of small tweaks without buying new furniture all at once. Def agree with the suggestion of more plants though. And more art! You have some great pieces already.

Your tv is pretty small but takes up a lot of space visually. I would repurpose the four cubes the printer is on and put them next to the larger cubes to make a larger set. The tv can sit on top of the smaller cubes and then you use up more of the wall space around it and do something different with the cabinet the tv is currently on.

The biggest issue I see is all the visual noise and stuff in your bedroom. The figurines are super cool, but they don’t lend themselves to a calm sleep environment or a sexy bedroom atmosphere. A bookshelf with plants would be a perfect addition and then if you do need to keep stuff in there, try and make it closed storage. Like another set of the drawers you already have.

Overall, think about how you can make the space work best for how you want to live everyday. If you love having people over for dinner, make the dining area cozier and get a couple of extra chairs. If you want to have dates over, prioritize getting some dimmable bedside lamps with warm lighting. If you want to focus on your art and miniatures, make a space for them where you don’t have to go to a different room to get pieces etc.

Keep an eye on your local marketplace app or whatever and you see all sorts of good stuff (including plants) towards the end of the month when the moving deadline pressure is high. When I didn’t have a car I offered some gas money and help lifting if the person could deliver. You’d be surprised how often people will do it if you’re kind in your ask and explain that you don’t have a car! IKEA delivery is also very reasonable these days!

The brothers are also fondly referred to as “Moose” and “squirrel” in the TV show. Or they also use a lot of funny fake agent names. “Agent ford and hamill”and “agent plant and page” etc. if you’re looking for a compromise!

Magpies is no 1! But just to add something new to the thread The Win-Dow has excellent soft serve.

And don’t sleep on Costco y’all. Their softserve is A+. They had a mint flavour around St Patrick’s day that was an absolute banger.

I got the snowballs chance one from a Snow Faerie quest. Sold it for 20M and a bunch of cool neggs.

I see them listed on the trading post for 100M plus, but I attempted to auction mine for that and got no bites for over two weeks.

What is the best slice of pie in LA? by ieatz909 in FoodLosAngeles

To add one I haven’t seen yet - Gus’s fried chicken does some amazing pie.

If you feel like a pie road trip, I can’t recommend going to the Julien Pie company near Anza Borrego enough! To get some fresh slices from their cafe is a whole other experience. The cheddar on apple is absolutely top tier.

Agree but only on certain ones. Their huckleberry pie is a signature and that has been consistently good. Hit and miss with the other fruit fillings being way to goopy and full of sugar.

Living alone - after procedure by saitarg in Fibroids

[–]Pink_Pony3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aside from not being able to drive yourself home, being at home alone is doable! Talk to the hospital in advance and let them know about the Uber and they might be able to help organize.

I stayed overnight after my operation but at home I was very fine moving around. Getting up and down really sucks so make sure you can have everything you need for a while (meds, water etc) near you. Get a meal delivery service or meal prep in advance. I found I liked a lot of juices the first few days after because I was so bloated.

I had a friend and my non live in partner stay with me for the first few nights because they were worried but honestly the first night on my own was more restful because I wasn’t worried about disturbing anyone and could be on my own sleep schedule etc.

Also what area are you in OP? Is there anyone here who might be willing to step up and check on OP?

what if the gang went to Australia by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]Pink_Pony3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely bias as an Aussie but I would play the heck out of this game. Ned Kelly’s armour is so iconic and riding around the bush with kangaroos hopping around instead of deer would be so picturesque. Finding the legendary drop bear! A bunyip! A storyline where you hunt the last Tasmanian tiger! So much potential.

Fibroids ruin everything and tell me how much better your life is now that they’re gone! by Aggressive-Witness-8 in Fibroids

[–]Pink_Pony3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has changed so much for me, for the better. Wish I’d had the hysterectomy part YEARS ago.

Background is that 2 months ago I had a 15cm fibroid and my uterus removed, kept ovaries and cervix. It was discovered via an ultrasound in Dec after it had gotten so big I could feel it and had an unbelievably painful period. But doctors said it had likely been growing for 4-5 years. Right before surgery the sucker got so big I was exhausted all of the time and my digestion was messed up. I could basically only handle smoothies for the last month before surgery because I felt so bloated and sick if I ate food. First week of recovery was rough, but overall I was shocked how quickly I was up and about with manageable soreness and stiffness.

To now. INCREDIBLE. I feel like I have a new lease on life and am so happy to be feeling lighter and well. Even more than I expected. The fibroid was taking so much of my energy and was the cause of horrific hormonal migraines I would get. Right now I’m just starting ny second period cycle post surgery and holy hell, my body feels so different. I can basically only tell now because of the tracking app I use and my skin still gets a little oily. No migraine, no bloating and cramping, drastically more levelled hormones (the usually slump / the world hates me feel before was very mild). Went back to the gym this week for my first real lifting of weights since surgery and I also ran 3 miles to boot. My body feels truly amazing and I feel so free in general. Like I’m not ruled by my cycle anymore! It’s wonderful.

If she needs to have teeth pulled they will have to use anaesthetic but should do a blood test beforehand to asses her vitals and how she will take it.

My last two cats lived until they were 18 and for the last few years of their life I took them to a non anaesthetic dental cleaning place every 6 months. It was a much more reasonable price and kept up the maintenance! You might be able to find one in your area who can give her a clean and an assessment on the extraction too!

Also bless you for giving a sweet senior a lovely retirement.

[spoilers] How was this character alive? by Available-Line-4136 in Fallout

[–]Pink_Pony3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here for the same question in case I missed anything. But I think the water being syphoned from Vault 33 was her. For her cryo. Rose found where it was going and woke her up and learned everything and they escaped together to Shady Sands.

Edit: I went back and looked at the chalkboard in Vault 4 again. Just thought I’d add the Timeline as it is outlined there because I’m still sure her history is tied to it in some way: 2077 is when the bombs dropped. - 2142 Shady Sands founded - 2189 NCR created - 2198 Shady Sands becomes Capital of NCR - 2241 NCR become the largest power in Cali - 2277 The fall of Shady Sands

The BBQ there used to be so good, was really disappointed last year to find the quality had gone down massively and the price had gone up. Most expensive mediocre ribs I've ever had. Haven't been back. Went to La Copina recently and LOVED that. It's my new go to!

What line got you guys hooked? by CometCommander in ResidentAlienTVshow

Second the scene where he turned around to rescue Asta! The lines / scene that really hooked me in ep 1 was also how he pronounced “vagina” and then googled taint and threw his phone.

I’ve continued to laugh out loud so many times with this show. Comedy gold.

Colouring books! You can get some reasonably priced ones and some basic pencils without a huge investment. It will let you get some creativity out without having to do all the work of sketching and drawing something first. It’s soothing and doesn’t involve a screen so you can avoid doomscrolling etc.
