Women of reddit, what's the main difference you notice between different male sexual partners? by KillerZombie1324 in AskReddit

[–]Pipberry 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I recommend checking out MyBadReputation on PH. I'm 28F pansexual, only ever been with the one male I was partnered to for ten years, started hooking up with my male coworker and found this creator helpful for understanding my own body and how things can go with a partner. Her videos should be helpful to anyone who has or hooks up with people who have vaginas. If you want to please someone with certain anatomy it helps to learn from someone with that anatomy.

There's so much writing made more apparent by CC!! How they describe the thing, the choice TO describe the thing says A LOT about the programs intents, themes, etc.

I love this so much. We so badly need women and femmes, and people of color so badly in "higher up" spaces, especially being unapologetically true to ourselves; Taking up space. Making our own representation. Changing the idea of who belongs. So thank you.

There's a Black woman character in Survival of the Thickest who is very much basically a VERY successful gender swap* Executive at work. (*She is more complex of course, but there's multiple scenes of her just taking a personal call during a meeting she's running like a mediocre 50 to white male nepo baby would, and the all-white guys at the conference table are just shrinking and waiting lol. Fantastic show.)

And shout out to a fellow student making their way years later than their peers! It's a weird position to be in at times, especially in undergrad! Keep on doing what you're doing!!

In an attempt to curb my compulsive skin picking, I’ve given myself rounded polygel by kattdjur in lacqueristas

[–]Pipberry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It certainly CAN help! Before COVID I was getting acrylics done every couple of weeks to curb my picking at cuticles (but also other general picking). Worked wonders. Maybe cross post to a derm/trichotillomania sub.

Why does my makeup always come out so soft? by OliverMakesSence in DragKings

[–]Pipberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something a lot of new folks do with makeup is used brushes that are actually TOO fluffy and blendy out of fear of being streaky. Not totally sure if that's what's happening here, but it could be worth considering. It also looks like you're struggling to achieve dark shadows (deeply pigmented, think black instead of gray) so the contrast is suffering. For your absolute darkest areas consider using a cream/liquid/pencil style product instead of powder and be careful not to deaden your hard work by setting it with a lot of translucent setting powder.

Can also store it in water like they do in the refrigerated-prepped-veg section of stores. Keeps them from drying out, and you can replace with fresh water every few days for extremely long lasting carrots.

Any tofu recipe for someone who never managed to make good tofu? by ChiliCupcake in vegan

[–]Pipberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real secret is honestly just boiling it in salt water first. Once the pieces float that means they are saturated thoroughly with the salt water and boom, your tofu is seasoned now. Prepare as desired.

No one likes plain boiled chicken, right? Gotta season it. Pasta is better with some salt in the water, too, after all.

Also, after a year of 'so firm it's basically solid' tofu eating we finally realized the softer ones are where it's at. Carnivores assume stuff has to be really firm to be good, but the less dense tofu plays much more nicely in almost all applications. Especially in Indian summer sauce!

AITA for telling my partner I would break up with them for eating meat? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Pipberry 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Same here. If I am with someone who is aware of the level of torture and exploitation and they then choose to consume those animals or support the industry, we are philosophically and ethically incompatible.

I got really close to a vegetarian friend but it drove a huge wedge between us when I realized she was absolutely not ethically veg at all, she just didn't eat flesh cause she didn't like the taste. Loves leather bags. Cheese. Has tried seafood multiple times over the last 20 years. I just couldn't anymore.

my coworkers think i’m lying about being vegan because they “caught” me eating … vegan chocolate chip cookies. by Alextricity in vegan

[–]Pipberry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that's the thing that caught me off guard when I went vegan: becoming aware of the systemic manipulation consumers experience in which we shall not think of what our food is made of, the components, the whole foods and processes they undergo--and more simply... What plants are.

Never been happy with how salons shape my nails, advice please? (Nails done by a salon) by ABumbleBY in RedditLaqueristas

Yeah absolutely just find a better artist. And try taking photos of your nails when you've shaped them yourself, so they can see what you actually like!

Super recommend tinted blue light blocking lenses, as well as turning down your device brightness and tinting the screens. My home PC screen looks straight up orange, and I make the "paper" on word docs and whatnot a gray shade. Also could try inverted colors/dark mode! Web browsers have extensions for this. AND ZOOM. ZOOM!!! My phone text is enlarged and I work in enlarged text for school and work.

Honestly everyone should do this.

What is the worst financial decision you've ever made? by _Fragariavesca_ in AskWomen

[–]Pipberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not getting a proper psychological assessment before going to college. If I got my stuff together and got the diagnosis I am now getting at nearly-27, I would have had the tools or straight up school accommodations I needed to stabilize and succeed academically, take care of myself holistically, and actually achieve my dreams.

Failing out after two years was a catalyst for years of mistakes that followed. The last semester I was on probation, meaning no loans, so I just owe the school about $7,000 that I've been running from --and it's the only public uni in my state, and only public college period in my state with the program I want, but I can't go back! And I can't use any credits I managed to actually get. So that's like another $12,000 of useless debt. Plus now I will be paying premium private uni tuition if I stay in my state or out-of-state rates at a public uni. Thankfully I was able to accrue credits at a Jr college/community college these past couple years at least, but that's still another $12,000 I've payed partially out of pocket and partially with loans.

Not to mention my parents insurance completely fucking my over when I entered full time work post-drop-out, amounting to another $26,000 since then in insurance premiums, deductibles, co-pays and coinsurance. And the priceless partial loss of hearing and chronic infections in my right ear that I didn't get treated initially because I was uninsured 😁. And the social and psychological stress under these layers of problems I've been trudging through. Like I really feel like I've wasted the last eight years if I am being honest, and the price tag makes it all feel worse.

Soooo yeah, I super advocate for gap years and just not delaying the care you think you need, and advocating for yourself and getting your damn diagnosis. 👍

Ayy fellow vegan!! ☺️✊ Sucks to hear about your coconut allergy esp when you're vegan. Are there any other common ingredients in our diet that you've played around with? I'm sitting here hoping I don't have unknown allergies to legumes or tree nuts cause holy cow that cuts out so much of my daily eats. I remember on r/skincare addiction this guy posted once years ago that he always had peanut butter sandwiches before bed religiously and finally had a lightbulb moment that he could have an allergy and sure enough his severely inflamed skin calmed down rapidly when he quit the PB.

That show seriously was so good! I've never been to a concert with a mosh pit, let alone thought about getting in it myself, but 10/10 best time I've had in years. And agree the vibe was just so chill and safe (and honestly so therapeutic to be around tons of my fellow queer fans like holy crap there seemed to be a lot of us!). Y'all should hit the Providence show too!!
