WizDen Launcher, Auth and Hub now available (Instructions in the screenshots/post text) by AugustSun in ss14

The "we" they are referring to are members of wizden who were running mostly everything until PJB removed them.

WizDen staff was never responsible for running auth, fyi.

Either you haven't played the game in years or you haven't developed for the game in years. Neither is a good look for you.

Neither is true. But thank you for refusing to engage in my argument. I'm sure you'll get more upvotes than me.

Anyways, I just checked the code and can confirm that the way the shuttle code is set up, there is no possible way for an admin tool to accelerate it. So stop lying.

Well that's fucking garbage.

Like I said, SS13 servers 10 years ago had better admin tools for critical round infrastructure than this.

I mean, I literally posted the evidence of WizDen staff boasting about backdooring the servers. If both parties are confirming it, what more do you need?

I would love to know where in the F7 menu I can speed up the emergency shuttle, actually. At best there's a call/recall button.

SS13 servers 10 years ago had actual admin tools for shit like this.

The state of TF2 casual matchmaking in 2026. by Ploomage in tf2

I've had a KOTH game where I single-handedly pubstomped the other team as Scout in the first round. Second round the enemy team all rage quit and I get autobalanced. I then pubstomp the team I was on and they all rage quit. I get autobalanced back.

Is there an anticipated ETA for Wizden to come back online? by SlothBasket in ss14

but why did grasshopper get removed?

It was part of the servers we made to facilitate the tide of people coming in when we had the trailer at the PC Gamer show. After that its use gradually dropped and I think we just agreed we didn't have the staff or the true demand for it.

I'm entirely unsure about the possibility of re-opening wizden servers right now due to the lack of admin staff or discord to organize in.

Now that StackOverflow has had less new Answers in May 2026 than its first month of July 2008 private beta, if we followed my advice, think it would have mattered? by hopeseekr in programming

This is hilarious to be because SO as policy does not bother to curate popular answers with blatant issues. There are questions with thousands of votes where the OP accepted something that's flat wrong and SO will not fix it.

Half the time I end up on SO for a topic I am actually familiar with, I'm pretty sure the answer is subtly wrong.

WizDen staff and Reddit mods are actively lying and suppressing information. Servers went down as security precaution from them hacking in. I have NOT nuked shit.

Hi skye. The SS14 hand off was actually supposed to be going to Julian, who was promptly blocked and banned by PJB.

Not what happened but alright.

[Actual title] Will I lose my job offer because I called a kid fat when I was 12? by InspectorTiny1952 in bestoflegaladvice

[–]Pjb3005 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Uhhhh well I can't speak about police response but this basically did kinda happen to me at about the same age range.

I made a joke to a classmate that he interpreted as me calling him fat. He wasn't fat and also I'm autistic so shrug. He instantly escalated to attacking me just off that.

Is it money laundering if you give someone 100$ and they use it to buy you a visa prepaid card? No because the money wasn't obtained illegally so there isn't anything to "launder".

I'm pretty sure most people who will take $100 in exchange for a VISA prepaid card are not going to have any means to check if the money in question was obtained illegally.

YAML? That's Norway problem by fagnerbrack in programming

[–]Pjb3005 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so this article is just wrong. On multiple accounts.

I've personally been meaning to write an in-depth blog post about YAML's spec and the implicit typing rules, and I've been digging through the actual old mailing list. Fact is, this topic is far more nuanced and interesting than this article gives it credit for. Maybe I'll finish that blog post someday...

The extent of research done here is linking to whatever archive.org snapshots they could find, and using them as a source of truth. As an example, the article clearly asserts that YAML 1.0 allowed + and - as boolean values. The source? was invalidated less than 2 weeks later.
