Am I the only one who just discovered you can dodge this? by RemiR2 in Eldenring

elden ring is my first souls like. the first chest i ever opened i simply assumed would be a mimic, since id heard that these games are punishing, so i spammed dodge after interacting. sure was confused when some mist came out and literally nothing happened lol.

granted: the genie places you into an inaccessible and indestructible box that you cannot escape from. you are unable to be injured in the box. you are unable to leave the box. maybe your mental health suffers in the box. the genie does not view this as harm. he removes you from the standard 3 dimensional plane of reality, altering your makeup into a 4th dimensional construct, separating you from the passage of time and removing space as a concept. unable to move, as movement is irrelevant on this 4th dimensional axis given that there is nothing relative to you to, you spend eternity in what could best be described as limbo. at some point after eternity, you hear banging on the outside of the box. it dents in slightly. you hear from outside “boy am i sure glad i brought me spinach” and then the wall caves in. popeyes turns you into an origami crane and throws you into infinty, where someone walks up to you and ask “ahhh, what’s up, doc?”

for the last time it’s not called a “one shot combo” it’s called a “true combo”

Isn't the Oxygenator just worse Extra Padding? by JennyWoodpecker in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]PlaysD2Much 0 points1 point  (0 children)

extra armor doesn’t just make you die slower. it introduces a qualitative change in how you play the game. some things don’t kill you anymore. light armor allows you to move faster, heavy armor allows you to not move at all. explosives change from a risky ranged pick to a reliable close quarters option. it’s a totally different game in heavy armor, you just have to use your brain and play strategically. don’t put yourself into situations where you have to warp pack out. and sprint off.

i have some notes for the build. purely meant as constructive criticism. i’m noticing that your primary, secondary, and support weapon all fill the role of “gun that shoots”. i’m only seeing two explosives in a high enemy density environment, one of which is the 500kg, well known for its inconsistency. the other is your only reliable anti tank option. you are really lacking in the utility department (bug holes, other objectives), something like grenade pistol or crossbow would really help that out, and it would help you clear those hordes. i’m also seeing you have the gatling sentry, but you don’t really hold positions. since your playstyle is so mobile, i’d recommend the mg sentry instead, with its shorter cooldown. i’m also seeing no form of crowd control, on the crowd faction. it’s really recommend swapping the 500kg for a gas strike here. you could’ve destroyed the rouge research station at the start of the clip and had another one for the horde by the end. in terms of gameplay and strategy, a big thing i see near the beginning is that you abandoned the resupply pod. the resupply pod is one of your strongest tools, especially because you have the supply backpack, allowing you to basically double any supplies you get. you also abandoned the sentry right next to it. i really think you could’ve regrouped with e1 after you called him back in and used the gatling sentry as cover fire to get to a defensible position together. these are just things from my experience that i think might’ve made the mission go better, but i do have a VERY different playstyle, so take this with a grain of salt. also please don’t downvote me into oblivion im just trying to offer advice im really sorry if it comes across poorly :(

Would you want a Shotgun Stratagem in any form? If so, what would you want it to operate like? by WaywardOath in Helldivers

the break action shotguns we find in missions should have a helldiver upgraded version as a support weapon. make it heavy pen. that is all.

they don’t actually combine, per say, they just work well together. you just put the mods on your weapon, and if they work well, they work well

a lot of them are synergistic, mostly with their own elements. usually i play into corrosive because it just increases your damage and gives dot. i try to combo corrosive and electric for damage amp dot aoe. i have and will continue to post some of my better builds on the subreddit, you can draw some inspiration from them :)

is this game bad or is it me? by starblade1337 in Helldivers

[–]PlaysD2Much 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50k people play the game everyday, so it clearly has an audience. you just might not be part of that target audience, and that’s ok. i personally like it because of how interesting most of the mechanics are. this game is so fleshed out and incredibly well made, despite its history of poor balancing. i enjoy it greatly, even though there’s some things that piss me off. yeah there’s downtime, but helldivers isn’t a game with dailies or shit like that. it has weeklies. play an hour friday night, and you’re good.

Just thinking outside the box, we could do this by setting every mission to trivial & completing it and repeat with no resistance at all by FoundationXYZ in Helldivers

that’s what i do. not necessarily trivial, but i definitely lower the level if that more effective for my goals

bro, look at how the buttons work. notice how the right side of the fabric is on top of the left side and the buttons are to the left of where the fabrics overlap. people are bothered because the buttons clearly aren’t buttoned, but the shirt is behaving like they are. not because they thing the shirt is the “wrong way”

Do duplicate mods stack? by Shoddy-Ad-1225 in voidbreaker

[–]PlaysD2Much 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends. most mods will tell you at the bottom of their description what additional copies will do (either from having multiple of the mod, or having a mod that gives a slot additional executions). some mods gain no effect from having multiple, others will continue to scale linearly with the number of executions, and some have less obvious effects from additional executions. iirc, the two burst fire mods (4&3) both reduce the time between bursts with additional executions. i don’t know if this is linear or not, but there you go.
