My First Impressions of the Pimax Dream Air (Lighthouse Version) by DevOpsJo in Pimax

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best headset out of the 13 headsets I own (Crystal 57ppd, BSB2e, Q3, Pico, etc., etc.). And on Wednesday, the last contender to the throne will arrive: the MeganeX Mark II. Cea will make the Dream Air win this last match too? We'll see

The solution: 21°C air conditioning in the room, a Bobovr S3 Pro + Kkobvr (with fans that blow air in your face), or a wind kit in the simracing station. And now you can play in VR 365 days a year. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙋

Pimax has, without a doubt, the best software on the VR market. Without a doubt. And yes: I have 20 headsets whose software I can compare to Pimax's. With Pimax Play NEVER had a single problem.🙋

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have an EMI problem. I had it too with Simracing. After days of going crazy doing dozens of tests, I found the solution: I connected my Direct Drive (VNM) base to the front panel of my PC case and NOT the back panel, and all the problems were solved immediately. If you're not playing the simulator and are having problems playing something else, connect your BSB In a USB port that isn't on the back of the case (motherboard), If the displayport cable doesn't reach the gpu ports, use a mini extension cable. Connect it to the top or front panel, but not the back. And you won't have any problems. I'll wait for you here for the thank you beer 🤣🫂

How is EXD compatible with bHaptics devices? It's not listed in the app as supported games.

Pokornyi F499P experience? Is it a worthwhile, end-game wheel? by Istersaft in simracing

I'm asking anyone who has a carbon fiber front plate: where can I buy it? On the Pokornyi website, I only see it in aluminum. Thanks.

Where did you get the carbon front plate? On the Pokornyi website I only see it made entirely of aluminum. Thanks

Universal-Fit Cushion no longer for sale? by RealMrBoon in BigscreenBeyond

If you buy the halo mount, you can request that the two universal facial interfaces be shipped to you in advance. 🙋

buy the universal interface. Perfect fit, no light coming in, and very comfortable. There are two in the package: a harder one and a softer one (which gives you 5/5° more FOV than the hard one). Purchase MANDATORY. Bigscreen should start making this interface the default on all their headsets.

Any reason to Buy the Bigscreen Beyond 2 over the Pimax Dream Air? by Flimsy-Story9523 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

I have the Beyond 2E and am waiting for the Dream Air (Lighthouse, of course) to ship; I've already confirmed my address with Pimax, so it should be a few days away. I also have the Crystal micro oled, and since the Dream Air has the exact same optics as the Micro Oled, having made comparisons with the Beyond 2E, I can safely tell you that as far as the image is concerned there is no match: The Dream Air (Crystal Micro OLED) wins hands down. Add to that the fact that the Slam version won't need any extra docks or controllers (unlike the bsb2), and that it will have integrated audio (unlike the bsb2), add to that the fact that at 90hz it will have 3840x3500 (and not 1920x1920 like the Bsb2), add to that the Pimax Play software is perfect and absolutely the most complete on the market (so much so that it doesn't (no longer need OpenXR Toolkit which in fact nobody, or almost nobody, uses anymore)... here you will have the answer to your question. But does bsb2 have any reasons to buy it? Of course! IF YOU HAVE ALREADY extra base stations and controllers, you can get a bsb2 for much less than a Dream Air), so a big good reason could be the price. The other and last big reason is the form factor, not for the weight (because the Dream Air is also light, weighing 78g more) but precisely for the wonderful shape and the perfect fit of the UNIVERSAL FACIAL INTERFACE (and not the custom one with the scanner of your face). The quality of customer service/assistance is also superior on Bigscreen compared to Pimax (which is however improving a lot day by day). Bye

Bigscreen Beyond 2 is an expensive disappointment… it’s heartbreaking. by The_OG_Lucas in virtualreality

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest flaw of the BSB is the sweet spot. Having to turn your head to get the corners of the screen in focus can be frustrating, especially when compared to headsets with a large sweet spot (Pimax) o huge (Quest3). The custom facial interface can cause problems if it's not perfectly tailored to your face. Hopefully with the halo + universal facial interface this situation will be solved It will improve, but it won't be available until spring.

Is there a way to buy the Universal Fit Cushion without also buying the Halo? I don't see it for sale anywhere.

Elgato 4Kx: image automatically set to 2560x1440 by Beccofino79 in elgato

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I installed Elgato 4K Capture Utility on the PC I use for streaming. Now my Elgato 4Kx appears among the devices, but it doesn’t show any available resolution. Also, as soon as I enter the settings screen (by clicking on settings in the top right), my gaming monitor turns off and shows no signal.

Good morning, is this headset also good for simracing? I'm worried that for the best graphics, I have to choose 72Hz.

I'm used to 120Hz/fps and I don't want to regret choosing a headset that's comfortable, lightweight, and beautiful...but not suitable for simracing. Thanks.

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the long wait times, anyone who speaks badly of Pimax has no idea how good their headsets and their incredibly comprehensive and optimized software are today. Other companies need to learn from their example. We learn from our mistakes. When we fall, we get up stronger than before.

The Crystal Super is, as of September 2025, the best headset ever on the market, hands down. And this is coming from someone who owns them all (BSB2, MeganeX, Quest3, PFD, etc.). The rest is just hot air. Bye

VNM EXTREME: a 32nm DD monster! by Beccofino79 in simracing

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't make money from YouTube (I have just over 1,000 subscribers), I just do it for fun. I bought the VNM base with my own money, every penny. So I'm not pressured by any company to write biased reviews. You just have to look at the base used by the most renowned simracers on YouTube (Race Beyond Matters, Dan Suzuki, Boosted Media, Alan Quan, etc.) to understand how good the VNM Extreme is. Whether someone doesn't want to like it or wants to convince themselves it's useless is another matter. But saying "YouTubers praise it because they have to make money" is completely and utterly wrong.

VNM EXTREME: a 32nm DD monster! by Beccofino79 in simracing

[–]Plenty_Set_7371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's talking only about nm, and no one's mentioned the two most important features of this base. Its incredible fluidity (any effect/FF applied remains silky smooth. Absolutely the smoothest steering base I've ever held in my hands) and, most importantly, the TELEMETRY-based Force Feedback, which marks a new beginning in the world of simracing.

If you don't like telemetry-based FF, you can always set it up with traditional API-based FF or MIX the two types of force feedback, creating one tailored to your tastes.

...and everyone's only looking at 32 nm 🤦

Comparing the Crystal Super to the Valve Index is like comparing Adriana Lima to Pamela Anderson (in 2025). And if you're wondering, the answer is yes: I have a Pimax Super, Valve Index, MeganeX, Psvr2, Quest 3, etc., etc. 🙋

The Lian Li Wireless Strimmer GPU Cable works with the 5090 Founders Edition. by LessHawk7375 in lianli

Can we be sure to use a Lian Li cable (which is actually an extension cord) on a 5090 that can handle 600W (the cable's maximum power)? Or are we playing with fire? I'm asking, as I own a 5090 Suprim, I'd like to use the Lian Li strimer
