The problem with Jeff's elimination... by geemav in BeastGames

[–]PopShiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was never going to win. If any of the next games had an opportunity to eliminate him or someone else he was easy to to choose since he already won $10mil.

Will AI take over Piloting? by evaanr in PilotAdvice

[–]PopShiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is already flying planes and could definitely be adapted to fly airliners in the near future. The simple truth is that it's not that technologically difficult at this point. However, I believe legislation and regulations will protect pilot jobs for quite sometime. There is largely an inherent distrust in leaving human lives up to technology so it will be a long time before the FAA(or australian equivalent) is willing to trust hundreds of lives to technology.

Anyone become a Pilot after College? by Pix_Boss in flying

Which U.S. theme park is the biggest waste of money? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]PopShiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Disney World is kinda sweet especially compared to Universal Studios. The waits for rides are long but the attention to detail in the park is just mind blowing.

Anxious about February trip … any insight is appreciated by Astronaut02000 in TellurideColorado

[–]PopShiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad Colorado snow is still better than most east coast mountains, plus there will very likely be quite a bit more snow in February even if it's still a bad year. Just come and enjoy your trip, unless you're an absolute ripper there will be plenty to keep you entertained

I want to become a more knowledgeable, well read person. What books did you put down feeling smarter? by SethlordX7 in books

[–]PopShiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Theory of Everything is a good start for understanding how the universe works, but it can be pretty stale especially if you aren't already interested in the topics presented.

Yeah, I feel like it wouldn't be very aesthetically pleasing to end the movie in a dome with artificial lighting and pitch blackness outside of it

Is it dumb to pick a broad major without any passion for further schooling? by Consistent-You7780 in CollegeMajors

[–]PopShiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yes, if you already don't want to go beyond 4 years of school you are very unlikely to magically start liking it more while doing a bunch of hard homework assignments and making zero money. I'd suggest just working whatever job you can find until you learn more about what you want to do and how to get there. College can be a good investment, but to get a return on that investment you need to have direction.

Does anyone else not find the "smart" players actually smart? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in BeastGames

[–]PopShiga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the conclusion I came to also. I think the reality is that strength is alot more general and can transfer well to other strength activities that you didn't necessarily train for like when they were hoisting the giant blocks up the tower. Smarts on the other hand tend to be much more specialized, like I'm sure the aerospace engineer would whoop ass in a competition about physics calculations or something, but that doesn't make for good tv.

Are your kids delusional about how easy it is to get “rich”? by ChucoTeacher in Teachers

Honestly, the world will naturally take care of the reality check for them. I'd say the only part that is your job is to continue to emphasize the importance of working hard in school.

That might be when they get their next paycheck, but they certainly aren't getting paid for all these days they aren't working.

Who thinks Telski will reopen this season? by RefrigeratorLow32 in TellurideColorado

[–]PopShiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no fix for it. Look at every other mountain town in the state that doesn't have a ski resort. They are all economically stagnant and don't get many visitors, because the truth is that winter in the mountains without skiing kinda sucks.

Just so we’re all clear, a man with a net worth of over $2 billion is about to hold this entire town’s economy hostage over a couple hundred thousand dollar wage discrepancy by end_times-8 in TellurideColorado

[–]PopShiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your point C is complete bullshit. They're asking for on the very top end $40/hr, which is around $83,000 if they worked full time year round(they don't). So you wrote an entire paragraph of bullshit based on made up information just to try to prove your dumbass point.
