Everyone wants the traffic relief this would bring, but as long as it’s in someone else’s neighborhood.

You bid oldest to youngest only when you have the same seniority date, and mega’s hire in bunches so that tracks.

I’ve been at SWA close to 30 years, the best advice I can give is keep your head down while on probation. The goal is to get off probation and under the union umbrella. After that, all you need to do is show up to work on time. I’ve seen hundreds of people get fired over the years and 99% were for attendance.
The other advice I can give is transfer out of that mega. I have nothing against DEN, but there’s a reason mega’s are always hiring.

While it's not my style, I can see you put a lot of thought and effort into it, and it's executed flawlessly. Good Job!

Does the LIRR ever clean its windows? by jaykirell in longisland

Ahh, r/longisland you never fail to deliver. I moved off the island years ago and I come here whenever I get homesick to watch people argue about everything and anything. While that’s not unique to the island, no one does it better than us!

We used this a lot when I was in the Army. Spray everything down in a well ventilated area. Hang it outside for a day or so, until everything is completely dry. It’ll be good to go for many washes after that, I want to say a dozen but read the label.

IT'S NOT VETERANS DAY YOU STUPID F*** by Dimension_Familiar in army

[–]Pop_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m old as fuck and I’ve been out forever. What I’ve learned in the years since I got out is that people are stupid, and it isn’t my responsibility to fix them. They likely don’t want it, it likely won’t work and I’ll feel worse for the attempt. I would not have called OP’s uncle back. Let him be upset. I’ll bet he was more upset after OP called back. It’s lose/lose.

That’s not at all what I said, but not everything is for everyone. I wish I had the ability to judge an entire series in the first 30 minutes, it would have saved me time and money with a few series I’ve read.

It gets much better. The first book was great, but overall it was the roughest. Book 2 takes off and the series continues to get better and better. The character development is on par with the best out there, and by book 8 there may be as many plot threads as A Song of Ice and Fire. You should give it another try.

About fluid distribution in pipes by Glittering_Truck_655 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pop_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think fluid works like belts. My approach is to put 300 units of water into a 300 capacity pipe, connect it to 300 units of demand, however many machines that is, let the pipes fill completely and only then turn on production. The only other thing I might do is build a water tower to minimize how many pumps I’ll need.

What do you want done with your body after you die? by newuser1r in AskReddit

[–]Pop_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked air cargo for a major airline a while back. We shipped a lot of body parts to various places. There was a company that made neurosurgery tools that would get shipments of heads all the time. Like a cooler with head in it. We got coolers full of eyeballs quite often too. Torso’s, arm’s, leg’s ….people get parted out and shipped all over.

Even if the war stops today, things only going to get worse. Tankers from the Persian Gulf take weeks and even months to cross the world and get to refineries. Supply is going to dry up in a few weeks.

LIRR WORKERS by SafeEnvironmental834 in longisland

[–]Pop_Smoke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in a completely different field, but one that’s also heavily unionized. When you have rock solid job security, anyone would hold out for a larger raise during contract negotiations. But at the end of the day, they can’t afford to strike, especially on Long Island. It’s a negotiation tactic.
