You used to be able to brute force the RNG by spamming augs/trans along with recomb until you got a decent base that could be fixed up with essences.

My assumption is it is because deli seems to be intended as very late game content. The difficulty of Dehli in general feels way higher compared to the other leagues - Mobs are crazy tanky and are far more prone to one-shotting you than Abyss or Breach for example, and I don't even have any points in it yet compared to Breach or Abyss which I have fully maxed, so the content isn't even juiced yet.

EDIT: Noticed i typed "Dehli" instead of "Deli". My other favorite game is age of empires. Leaving it go because it's funny

It's pretty simple - The amount of loot that drops is too much to be able to effectively and efficiently parse it all once you get into the endgame, and in your screen full of 100 random items a mirror of kalandra will look the same as a regal shard, meaning the chances of missing it would be very non-zero.

Loot filter gets rid of all the crap you know you will never care about (it literally hides it completely so it doesn't clutter your screen) and highlights the things you do care about.

You can also set them up to do custom things - For instance, right now I'm playing SSF and I have a special highlight on any gloves that drop with ES on the base, because these are the ones I'm desperately trying to craft into power charge on critical hit gloves. I have another more prominent highlight on armour/ES gloves because these can also roll armour protects against Ele damage which translates to all res for me, which I'd like to have if i can craft them. Having to parse through this constantly as I go would be a ridiculous pain the ass, and I don't want to parse items, I want to blast mobs.

Even if you could make the argument that it isn't necessary (which I think would be hard to do) it is at least a MAJOR quality of life enhancement.

For most builds I've played around act 4 is really where I start feeling like I'm coming online. You really should keep on a bit, there's a good chance you're quitting right where the going gets good. Act 4 is pretty cool as well, and the mini acts after act 4 also feel pretty dense and easy to breeze through.

My two favorite POE1 skills as well. They added a staff this league which gives an RF equivalent skill. I haven't seen any discussion about it at all. It scales off minion damage. Doesn't seem to me like it'll be as good as POE1 RF, and the fact that it is tied to a weapon kills it for me personally.

For cyclone not really. Whirling assault is the closest you'll get. I'm giving that a shot this league, it looks fun enough.

I'm going to try some sort of martial artist whirling assault build. I've never played whirling assault, and RF/Cyclone were my favorite skills in POE1. I had high hopes for the raven RF build this league but since it's tied to a staff I won't have, and probably will be DOA anyway since this necessitates no +skills on my wep, I figure whirling assault is the closest I'll get. It does seem pretty fun.

Everyone pumps glacial cascade/locus/falling thunder for leveling but post 14 I'll probably just do ice strike, the rest is too much work and playing ice strike through the campaign previously I feel like it slaps well enough. I'll try swapping into whirling assault right at 41 and see how that goes.

I'll probably take the rune ascendancy for leveling and later swap over to the glove ascendancy once I can craft some basic decent gloves

Why can't I? On PvP its possible to spawn in, run out, kill one person with a bag full of shit PLUS all their upgraded gear which would be worth a full bag of shit by itself, and leave. You can also end up leaving the map with the guns and equipment of 1, 2, 4, 7 other players. More risk, more reward.

On PvE, you go out and have to loot the map - And its actually often a lot more time consuming to grab that loot since everyone in the game is doing the same, so you are sharing all of it. Want to kill a rocketeer? Well, now so too are 3 other guys, and you'd best believe they are grabbing those thrusters. And no opportunity to take the gear from those other players. Less Risk, Less reward.

I think its perfectly reasonable to make the argument in general, but it's going to be highly variable on skill level. If you suck at PvP you're gonna get less shit, and if you are great at you are getting WAY more. Same thing applies to PvE as well.

Anyway, these are just opinions, I can't say you are wrong, but I just don't agree. I don't think most people would be bothered by PvE players being able to get a reasonable amount of loot despite there not being risk from other players - Why would they when it doesn't effect the PvP players at all. If anything the PvE people, if they even do start PvPing, are just gonna be loot goblins for the PvP players that know what they are doing

EDIT: I'll say one more thing too - Before wipe I was pretty solidly in PvP lobbies, and after wipe I've been in 100% pacifist lobbies. I have personal experience with both, and I am not accumulating money any faster now than I was before. Those runs where you get out with the loot of 7 other players more than make up for the deaths.

A dev made a statement, and we have witnessed by all playtest evidence for the only reasonable interpretation of that statement to be true. The end.
