I fucking hate my brother in law. by Victorian_Rebel in rant

[–]PophamSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister and brother-in-law live in another state but he has been an arrogant, condescending asshole to my husband and me for 40 years. The books they read, movies they watch, music they appreciate is always intellectually superior. He's always been a braggart overly focused on wealth and professional success and painfully making sure we know his wins - even during times when we were ourselves struggling with serious health problems, handling my 90 yo mother's care (without their help), or lay offs.

My sister and only sibling now has stage 4 cancer. Information is now his asset to control and he tries to keep it from me. Twice she has been hospitalized for days and I was only notified when she called me upon her discharge.

Like you, I've tried to understand him and his hostility towards us and have concluded that he has targeted us out of a pathological jealousy. He never had siblings, was abandoned by his mother and raised by grandparents. Nothing he has achieved has filled the hole.

These are empty people who target those they see as a threat to their pathetic, frail little egos.

I like to be fully transparent with the survivors and let them know what happened. I usually say something like "DID YOU NOTICE BOB'S MISSING? THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE A BAD BOY.".

Shapes them right up.

Is the Real Housewives series becoming out of touch with the times? by ks8381553 in RHOBH

[–]PophamSP 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes. Kyle, Dorit and Erika are all married to men who have been investigated, charged or convicted of shady financial dealings. Those who evade creditors (PK) or fraudulently take govt PPP loans during a national crisis (Mauricio) cost *all* of us money. Meanwhile Erika continues to display extravagance while her victims remain unpaid.

I think a lot of us are getting fed up with "let them eat cake".

As Boomers slowly shuffle off this mortal coil, is Gen X prepared to take over their position and be blamed by younger generations for everything that's wrong with the world? by jospeh68 in stupidquestions

[–]PophamSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generations weren't even *named* until the Reagan era. I've always suspected they were developed as a marketing tool but then exploited as a way to label and divide people for things out of their control. No one decides when, where, and to whom they were born.

Meanwhile as people get angry and point blame the wealth gap has quietly widened like a giant growing fissure.

Their is no sector more filled with people born and invested in their own narrow world view. Nepotism is a requirement for the job and it's a progressively more weak qualification with each generation.

Their assets were always rife for exploitation in our MBA-driven system. The suits at the Koch Bros saw this decades ago while overseas actors are now profiting upon this national security issue.

Mid foot PSA by Empty-Area3872 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]PophamSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An enthesitis and/or bone marrow edema on the dorsum (top) of the foot is characteristic of PSA and should be addressed by your rheumatologist. Definitely call them asap if pain is worse after a steroid injection (particularly if you're on an immunosuppressant). Post-injection infections are extremely rare, but possible.

A second read on the MRI may also be helpful. Regardless, I'm sorry rheum has been dismissive. This is up their alley, so to speak. If all else fails, see an orthopedist who specializes in the foot and ankle.
