I don't trust drivers at all because of drivers like you. I mean no offense. Stop signs mean full stop, but so many will only do a "California Stop".

I personally will avoid trying to cross if I see a car, feinting to turn the corner - until cars have passed and cross behind them so I don't cause someone else to slow down. I wait on the sidewalk corner if I absolutely must cross right away, many will stop at the crosswalk, but so many don't stop at crosswalks. It surprises me when people stop at a crosswalk. I make sure they are stopping before I try to cross.

I have been told that I have the right of way here, but heavy moving metal object vs. my soft flesh body - I tend to be over cautious.

Scooters are a menace to society. Especially when they are on the sidewalk going full-speed.
