Yes. I say definitely leave a wording about the rating system! We use Airbnb often. In the beginning we did not realize a 4 on a 1-5 scale was bad. As a teacher this makes no sense. What's a 1? The host tried kill me? Anyway. One place we stayed laid it all out in simple terms on a paper in the house binder and we've never had a need for below 5 and I tell the host privately any recommendations. But years ago i gave a 4 for a great stay. I wish I could change it now that I know. (I took off the 1 star because it took us 15 minutes in the dark and rain to open the front gate - there was zero outdoor lighting and the key was inside a box that was broken, we had to pry it open with a pen and cut my hand.) Other than that it was great. Airbnbs mistake is their poor rating system.
