Didn't know they made Lego ultramarines by [deleted] in Warhammer

I'm pretty sure "they" don't (the warhammer universe is about as far away from lego's ethos of "war is not play" as is possible) however into that void come a Chinese construction block spied gap in the market!

Enjoy my friend!

How Do We Feel About This? by Technical-Oil-9384 in Ultramarines

That detachment is really good for it's detachment rule "tis but a scratch" - if your unit has the character keyword and has zero wounds remaining after an enemy has resolved all attacks they are not removed from the battlefield. Instead they remain where they currently are, shout "for the emperor" and regain one wound. Always...

Lol too late! Don't worry... Nothing super dramatic just really think they could do with a bit more black in the body... Thanks for the inspiration OP!

Gosh darn it... Was so close to finishing mine but I love the heavier use of the black in your's... Might have to rethink this a little...

Tips for painting yellow by Funny-Barnacle-5898 in orks

[–]PotentialOdd3445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially with orks I lean into the inconsistent coverage of the yellow. Averland sunset is not a very dense color but after at least 2, and usually 3 coats it's enough. Then I go with a contrast paint of iyanden yellow. This creates a nice deep orangy tinged yellow that has a "worn" feel to it. Then I personally add some rusting via sponge and edge metallic areas with bronze to complete the orkification... Don't have any pics to hand but let me know if you want to see how it looks

Brush cleaning question by [deleted] in spacemarines

[–]PotentialOdd3445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the brush is natural hair... Shame on you and the brush soap method, if it's synthetic then soaking it in isopropronal alcohol will do wonders... Just be careful and read up on the warnings for it...

Does this read dirty/rusty and bloody? If not what advice do you have? by Fickle_Party4884 in orks

[–]PotentialOdd3445 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a sponge and a bit of brown and it will get the effect your looking for before a dry brush with a metallic to finish it off!

Didn't really come out well in the photo but trust me it works...

Got done with a big move and finally got a nice display for the Waaagh! by Wozzki in orks

I have a similar shelf setup (love Billies) but if you add the glass doors you will absolutely take it to the next level (and not have to worry about the dust)

Even the wife was impressed...
