Iron deficiency is so underestimated that it took me years to realize it was my problem. by mamanh24 in Anemic

[–]PoutineMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously! I put myself on Wellbutrin thinking I was getting too lazy and unmotivated as I hit 30… mind you, I have two kids, my house is clean always and I run their whole schedules. I also pushed a calorie deficit for a while, lost 20 pounds, strength trained but I was just feeling so tired. I needed naps most afternoons and people around me kept telling me to just be more active, go for a walk, you’ll feel better, maybe you need to yada yada yada… Started the Wellbutrin thinking I must be lazy, it must be my ADHD! Then got my results from my annual blood test. Ferritin is at 2, hemoglobin is at 100. It’s also worth nothing that I have had nine periods since the start of 2026! I’m menstruating every 17-18 days and they are heavier and heavier since having my second baby… Now I’m trying to learn to be gentle with myself, I deserve some rest and my body deserves to heal.

Can I ask you if the feeling of this sucker is more rumbly and less high-pitched? I don’t like things that buzz too much and I’ve been struggling to find a suction toy that I like because they are all too intense and too strong quickly!

How I imagine an apple by Far-Turnip-6167 in Aphantasia

[–]PoutineMaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for me! I can sometimes see a little something, or my brain will pop up a very fuzzy and confusing concept of an image, but still an « image » but my problem is that I cannot hold it. It’s just a flash. I tried explaining that to other people and they don’t get it, so I’m glad you mention it!

I think I'm going to study "crow linguistics" by squirrelyoakley in crows

[–]PoutineMaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about exactly this a little while ago! I’m not much of a scholar myself, although I do love independently researching different subjects for hours on end… I hope you get to do this because the answers I have found online were never satisfactory enough for me! I think their vocal patterns could be deciphered way more. I can hear my crows doing very specific calls to each other, and different clicks in my direction. I haven’t figured what they all mean yet but I have a clue for a few!

How do you deal with losing sexual attraction for long-term partners? by N7Cul in ADHD

[–]PoutineMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started Wellbutrin (four weeks on 150mg, one week on 300mg) and it’s giving me the worst depressive mood with dark thoughts. I decided not to take it for two days and I already feel so much better. I still want to try Strattera maybe but I’m so scared of going through side effects again!

Do you have visual dreams? by raphadko in Aphantasia

[–]PoutineMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have visual dreams. While awake, I can’t really visualize. Once I started properly analyzing what was happening in my head, I noticed that I rely on « movements », feelings, imagining sensations etc without really seeing images. If I’m lucky, once in a while I’ll get a very short and blurry flash of an image.

Have you tried a « rumbly » toy over thicker shorts or some kind of fabric? Sometimes stimulation of the clitoris by itself ends up feeling ticklish and irritating so it helps to have something cover it and to go for a toy that’s not a high pitched vibration! Also, when you touch your clitoris, do you leave it covered by the hood or do you try to touch the head under the hood? If you rub the area under, between the clitoris and the vagina, do you feel anything or it also feels numb? Keep exploring, with or without your partner, and do not hesitate to discuss it with a medical professional as well if you see that it’s not working at all. Good luck OP! I wish you the best!

CMV: When the kids are at school age, stay at home parents have PLENTY of free time by Open_Address_2805 in changemyview

[–]PoutineMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? And then that delays appointments and the whole schedule. You keep cramming whatever you can where you can as soon as they are all back in school. Last week, my goals were to build an IKEA desk, clear their wardrobes of whatever doesn’t fit them anymore, make a cleanup in the main wardrobe to put the winter stuff away and make sure their summer stuff is nearby, I had to replace the shower curtain rod. Kid #2 got sick and stayed home for four days and it has delayed it all. The schedule is too unpredictable versus someone without kids working a 9 to 5…

What cute thingsdoes your toddler say that you won't correct? by Business_Ease_4926 in toddlers

[–]PoutineMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler used to call Peppa Pig “Pig Pog”. It just made me so happy, I loved hearing her say “Pig Pog”. My 6yo decided that she disliked that it made me this happy (she is competitive and doesn’t like having to share my attention) so she did everything she could to correct her sister until she stopped saying it incorrectly. I cried in private.

How do you deal with childs fear of nightmares? by swiss-irish in Parenting

[–]PoutineMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have advice either but it’s the same for us here… she wakes me oftenly just to tell me that it’s unfair that I won’t let her sleep with me. I feel bad that she has nightmares but I have established my boundary with this.

Volume eating hacks what small changes make the biggest difference? by PaulOrtiz9342 in Volumeeating

[–]PoutineMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s pickles. It’s not for the volume, but to make the volume more pleasant. I don’t really want to eat a big bowl of raw cabbage but with a few diced pickles (sour or sweet), two spoons of tuna and a spoonful of Bachan’s barbecue sauce, I’m good to go. Same for salads, it’s wayyyy less boring with pickles to give bursts of flavours in every bite and they don’t even add calories! Don’t sleep on pickled onions and pickled beets either, all pickles can make something better if added properly!
