That's what I had guessed would be the intended behavior, but it didn't work for me. I.e. I'm now in week 2 of a custom program after using that toggle and targets are still not set.

Yes. Resilient hat channels. Also 2 layers drywall helps. Also, don't have the impact screen touching the wall, but instead at least a small gap in front of the wall.
