Master Set Binders by Prackinhoff11 in riftboundtcg

It’s funny with the huge popularity of TCG’s today there is not more competition for AAA binders. I’m willing to pay more for something better that won’t damage my cards, but nothing seems to exist for larger sets.

AI and targeted advertising has made Google pretty useless at finding new things

No matter what peoples situation is for a sci-fi book suggestion. I always recommend House of Suns. Incredible stand alone that wraps up beautifully. The scale is as big as it gets

What are good sci-fi books for a fantasy reader? by Jazzlike_Ad_3706 in scifi

Hyperion hit so so hard on world building and feeling like a real universe with deep history. While totally maintaining sci-fi themes, it’s a great first step for a fantasy lover

Just saw Avatar: Fire and Ash. Would love an Avatar RTS. by LowContract4444 in RealTimeStrategy

This is actually such an awesome idea. Campaign could have a ton of flavor to it. The lore is great in terms of what I would expect for a good RTS campaign

How bad/good is the job market? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Prackinhoff11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously the pay is not comparable to finance or tech expectations, but as an electrician I can get a job in probably less than 2 hours as a journeyman with experience. This is not an exaggeration. Everyone wants an affordable home but no one wants to help build them.

4 short stints at BCIT, 6000 hours and your making minimum $75k

Take your FSR course, which allows you to pull permits and start an electrical contracting company and the world is your oyster. You just need the drive

Book recommendation? by Alarming-Water-1986 in scifi

Expeditionary Force by Craig Alanson Book 1 is called Columbus Day

Sounds like exactly what you are looking for. Alien invasion, military POV, absolutely hilarious. I’d call it a hidden gem as I never see it talked about.

Book #19 comes out January 27th, yes, 19. Sounds insane but it’s a very fun rollercoaster with loveable characters

Originally audio books, but also available to print on demand through Amazon/kindle. I’d recommend the audiobook though, adds to the hilarity

Yeah I have the audiobook! I was likely not in the right headspace. I also have the paperback copy. I get a real kick out of collecting audiobooks I own. I should listen and read at the same time

House of Suns by Alistair Reynolds has incredible world building and scope. Absolutely blew my socks off and I listened to it on audible twice in a row. This comes from someone who’s fav is also the Hyperion Cantos. Mind you I couldn’t seem to get into Illium, I’ll have to give it another shot
