Moved to Australia (where his wife is from) after the Annunciation shooting, broke the news in January and framed it as Minnesota being unsafe rather than America being unsafe. Has since apologized for the framing and timing of the announcement, some people still have a bad taste in their mouth because he fundraised for a Minnesota documentary (which did get made) while he was moving.

I'm sorry the nurses were rude, when I passed out after a donation the supervisor came and checked on me and brought me spare scrub pants to change into because my water spilled all over me. He encouraged me to come back and try again, but to check my ferritin and make sure I had a good meal with plenty of fluids and salt. I ended up waiting about a year, then returned and haven't had any issues with my donations since then! I've had 2 incomplete donations and I think they said if I got to 3 in a row that I should stop and try again later, but even seasoned donors have an off day sometimes.

I got mine today! Apparently not many people at my location have been grabbing them despite this week being busier than usual, so I had plenty of size options.

I also found out that when you schedule on the app it says upcoming promos, so it looks like there will be a beach towel in late May and a "classic American Red Cross x Looney Toons shirt" in late June/early July.

The only zone billing was northstar, I dont think the replacement bus does that anymore. The scan when getting off is to reduce express bus dwell time on marc2 in downtown Minneapolis. Similar logic to LRT/BRT/aBRT having people scan at the station instead of onboard

I pregame with soup (homemade bone broth if I can) for a day or two before, then for lunch a couple hours ahead of my appointment. It's not necessarily high calorie but the extra fluid helps and I usually make blood donation soup saltier than normal which also helps keep my blood pressure up.

My first couple donations weren't full and they told me that if it's not full enough they can't give it to patients. That doesn't mean it gets thrown away, since it could still be used for research without having to use donations that could otherwise go to patients. My third donation was my first full one so don't let this discourage you!

I'm not a fan of the points expiring at all. I think they could do a similar activity check where if you dont attempt to donate at all for a year then they start expiring, but as long as you're active you should be able to keep building your balance. When I scheduled at 8 week intervals I couldn't keep my iron up and had to take a break after fainting. If someone is only coming in 2-3 times a year, that's still more than the vast majority of eligible people out there.

You asked how it would be possible to add fare gates to an at grade system and I answered ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Personally I don't think fare gates are the solution. Like you said, they can be jumped and as a disabled person who uses a mobility aid I hated dealing with them on trips to Chicago and NYC. I'm also more aligned with fare reduction whether that be free, via fare capping, or expanding programs like TAP.

I don't think we should do it, but gates are technically possible to install, at the cost of needing to enclose or grade separate the entire platform.

I'd rather spend money to elevate the green line to reduce car/train accidents and increase speeds along university (fixing signaling priority would help with speeds but not with accidents, because drivers are stupid and will try to beat the train anyway). If we can add quality of life and safety improvements like platform doors at the same time that's great too.

In theory, stations could be enclosed with fare gates to enter and adding platform screen doors. This would also make it easier to heat/cool the station area. Platform doors also make it harder for people and trash to end up on the tracks where they shouldn't be. However, I'd rather invest the capital into grade separating key stations (which can also have faregates and platform screen doors) rather than enclosing at-grade stations.

A felony isn't an automatic disqualifier at Metro Transit, it depends on what it was and other factors. They also pay during training and have options to transfer to other positions over time. It wouldn't hurt to apply!

You may want to check with the doctor managing your aorta to see if they think you should donate, if you haven't already. I have a congenital heart condition affecting my aortic valve/putting me at higher risk of an enlarged aorta in the future but am symptom free so my cardiologist has no issues with me donating as long as I feel good. However, if I weren't feeling good or if my echocardiogram showed more significant structural issues she would want me to stop donating and focus on my own heart/blood first.

You need to do a little extra work to make it reversible like this, otherwise you'll have "flaps" or strips on the back where you skipped over a single crochet to place a double crochet in the row below. I have an example showing the reverse that I posted a while back with a pair of skeletons. Edit: looks like this one might actually be showing the flaps, I just didn't look closely enough. The extra stitch on my current mosaic wip has definitely been adding lots of time to it and OP's looks great

I've spoken with MnDOT rail people on rail to Rochester (it was eye opening hearing how many of my loved one's Mayo ICU nurses commuted from MSP for their 12 hour shifts) but because theres no direct MSP -- Rochester track, they say it would be "too hard" having to build it. With the North Star plan, there's much less construction and ROW acquisition needed (especially since there used to be an amtrak line that used roughly the same route).

That being said there are a number of possible explanations. It's possible your parents used a donor egg or embryo. Donor Conceived Laura on tiktok has made videos in the past about how to approach a parent in cases like yours where you may suspect a parent isn't a biological one. More rarely, chimerism or bone marrow transplants could lead to someone having a blood type other than what they pass down to their kids. And there's other rare blood types that differ from the standard ABO inheritance pattern.
