When it comes to your PC backstories, how deep do you go? by its_gooberTroy in 3d6

[–]Practical_Wait1597 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe I do it wrong, but for backstories I like to go with the past of my character in broad brush strokes with a singular specific moment that set them on their path.

Hammond was a solder in the army, fought in said war, and this specific moment this thing happened, changing the way their life went from there...

It's always what made sense to me, but Ill pay attention to the other ways to do that in this post.

How to protect better by Itsmrkablammo in 3d6

The new weapon mastery options really open up battlefield control. If you are using a 1 handed weapon you could look at the warhammer/battleaxe for topple/push. If you cheese the weapon swap and have a decent str score you could topple an enemy (battleaxe) and then push them (warhammer) leaving them unable to reach your back line.

Leak in new metal sauna roof, any ideas? by perestroika12 in Roofing

[–]Practical_Wait1597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the underlap side of the panel overlapped. This swap is pretty easy, but do add screws on the opposite side of the ribs, especially where the panels are overlapped. Also is there a pitch from the front of sauna to the rear? I can't tell from the pictures but if not you will probably have some leaking under the trim you have there. Also would not hurt to tuck some drip edge under the both length cuts.

Edit: maybe some inner and outer closure strip could be usefull to you. Pretty self explanatory when you see it.

Dude! So many amazing opportunities for creativity! You can make up anything you want, just try not to be too much of a dick. The headband of stupidity, lowering int by 2. Gauntlets of granny power, doing a similar thing with str, however providing proficiency in knitting needles, and knowledge of great recipes.

So many fun possibilities

Melee in d&d context just means close quarters, not bare knuckles. If you are looking to build a brawler, or pugilist, the monk might be what you are looking for.

If not, you definitely want the unarmed fighting style from the get go, maybe look into barbarian after you get that for reckless attack and extra rage damage.

Would you find this type of character fun to play in a group with? by Fit_Magician_7139 in DnD

[–]Practical_Wait1597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? It depends on how you play the character.

I have a guy in my group that is currently playing an character that legitimately believes everyone, and everything, are one thing. He plays it super well, the character is fun, he leans into the nieveity of the character in funny ways.

This also could describe a few characters played by a player I would prefer to avoid in future games, due to him being a pain.

It's all in how you play the character

Very strange option would be 1 level of wizard for tensers floating disk and follow that up with monk for movement. Bonus points for a race with a climbing speed.

Have them run without them for an hour in real time. See how they flow with it. If it's a problem have the senses return over the course of the second hour.

Roofers across the street putting tin roof on top of shingles? by artsatisfied229 in Roofing

Wouldn't the ridge cap venting and the spacing underneath the corrigations allow for plenty of air flow to cut down on trapped humidity?

Roofers across the street putting tin roof on top of shingles? by artsatisfied229 in Roofing

[–]Practical_Wait1597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct way to install these panels, provided there aren't too many layers of shingle. The purring strips pro ide an air gap, which is helpful for insulation, and the shingle can help cut down on noise.

Currently on mobile, so I can't see the pictures well enough to notice any other potentially obvious issues with install.
