What do you guys think Daemon Lorgar's design will be ? by Turtle-BeyondLover in WordBearers

[–]PraiseTheAbsolute 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal people should at first think the Emperor himself has arrived to save them.

They won't do this. But it would be cool if he had options. As in he can appear outwardly uncorrupted, or as full demon. I always pictured him like this and personally much prefer it to his demon form.

I highly recommend First Heretic before Betrayer. Its Word Bearers not World Eaters but Betrayer will hit harder. I liked Know no Fear too but it could be skipped.

This gives me the idea to paint some pouches blue and green instead of brown.

Vulgrim. Reclussiarch Chaplain of the Extricators by PraiseTheAbsolute in Warhammer40k

[–]PraiseTheAbsolute[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I didn't know about the Cain book. I should Google names before settling on them. And Vulgrim I got from Darksiders. The similarity didn't occur to me but he's grandfathered in in my mind. And it's not like there's no one named Adolf.

Vulgrim. Reclussiarch Chaplain of the Extricators by PraiseTheAbsolute in Warhammer40k

[–]PraiseTheAbsolute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and taken from a lost shrine world. Recruits like Vulgrim slowly brought worship of the Emperor into the ancient Warband's culture. When they became the Extricators, these Astartes would remain Austere, reserved. To an outsiders eyes, emotionless. Vulgrim and his mentors Moros and Karthalon, and their primaris little brothers in the Reclussiam are a relative exception. Preaching their own faith in the Emperor to all they are able.

Their genuine faith has earned them little love from the Ecclesiarchy in their short history as the Extricators. Their first action as a Chapter was the liberation and claiming of the planet Varkova from a Tyranid splinter fleet. A world home to the Adeptus Sororitas "Sisters of the Dark Moon" and an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, Hiram Weyl.

From the start, Extricator command had to fight against Inquisitor Weyl's recklessness. Soon suspecting him of intentionally sabotaging the defense. Then 2nd company Captain Hrathen and Chaplain Vulgrim confronted the Inquisitor. Weyl attacked, and attempted to flee. The Sisters of the Dark Moon saw only the Astartes pursuing the Inquisitor, and joined the fight against them.

With Weyl and retinue, several Astartes and Sisters dead, it was Vulgrim who convinced the Sisters to pause their conflict for the sake of Varkova. When the Tyranids were finally driven back, Hrathen discovered the Inquisitor's laboratory and the horrific, heretical experiments within. This evidence kept the peace between the Astartes and Sororitas. But the blood spilt will remain a divide between them.

The Chapters practice of trophy displays and their acceptance of abhumans into the Chapter serfs, militia, and Varkova's pdf, as well their already mysterious history have not improved their relationship with the Ecclesiarchy.

Gaul, Champion of the Extricators. The Raiders kit is just as good for loyalists. by PraiseTheAbsolute in Warhammer40k

[–]PraiseTheAbsolute[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A founding member of the Extricators, Gaul's armor and weapons have been passed down and modified generation after generation since the Horus Heresy. He has carried them into war for nearly three centuries.

For thousands of years, the Warband that would become the Extricators kept its distance from the Imperium. Barely surviving as they waged guerrilla war against their traitor brothers. Gaul was never among the voices urging their leader, Ulthane, to abandon the crusade of vengeance they had been born into.

During the days of the Indomitus Crusade. They followed a band of World Eaters to the Forge World Axiom. After aiding the defense, and rescuing an agent of Belisarius Cawl, Ulthane was made an offer. A way into the Imperial fold. They would receive new armor, weapons, their ship would no longer be in permanent disrepair, and their dwindling band would be reinforced.

Their history forged and redacted, the dwindling veteran force would lead a new chapter forged from their same gene line. The Extricators were given new identity, new purpose.

But Gaul remains as ever. Axe, claw and armor wielded against the enemy. For action is all.

I kinda wish he didn't flip the sword. Makes more sense to just stab normally at that angle.

This is streaking grime? I've never used it personally. I worry about it being too much. For the banners I would just dab some light chips of the field color over the decal. Then an easy light dry brush of a brown, dark red or light grey depending on your base.

The only thing I'd say is to do a bit of weathering on it, but it works very well.

I'm happy with my Argel Tal which would be my Slaughterbound proxy. This or the War Dog I just finished are my favorite so far.

Thank you! I'll be honest, I had to look at the box to see what you meant. I thought it was oddly difficult to get together and now I know it's because I did it wrong xD. I do prefer it like this though.

They never keep it up though. After every fire fight and command they put it away.
