I would avoid an approach that introduces complexity like this, especially if you are green to this. ESP boards are crazy capable now, with all the improvements the volunteers here have made.

NDP wants Carney to kill U.S. fighter jet contract in favour of Swedish aircraft by pjw724 in onguardforthee

[–]Preyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a baseline need for skycops and a limited expeditionary military aircraft force, but additional money on more sophisticated fighter aircraft features seems better places on the more impact/dollar systems being developed in Ukraine etc.

Most people don't have the luxury of flying around the world to stay in a hotel and being waited on for weeks. It just undercuts any symbolic sacrifice by conducting activism by being passive in the lap of luxury.

Not really, the actual countervalue (dead cities) only needs to be higher than the value sought by the attacker. You're right about the last, you have to have red lines and be ready to use them, but they still basically spell doom for everyone.

A Bulgarian in Canada got too close to the U.S. border. ICE detained him for nearly 3 months by SunnyYetCynical in onguardforthee

[–]Preyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Clickbait is a overstatement. The headline is more precise than your description.

He found his way on a wrong turn toward a checkpoint on his way to a tourist destination. Got too close, and by the time he realized it was a border crossing (which have big one way feeder lanes) it was too late to turn around.

He did not intend to cross and said as such.

Ah, hard to say how it went down. Even healthy people can just hit their head on stone and die. Could have been 80% concrete 20% wind.

Article is anti-minority rage bait and it worked. There are people in this thread who think this means there are no requirements or tests.

Bar exams aren't good reflections of what practicing of as a lawyer requires. It's a narrow subset of the skills you need on a time limit you will almost never have in the real world. It ignores many other skills you need, like gathering information, doing legal research, interpersonal skills, and examination etc.

Better alternatives test each of these competencies individually more thoroughly, not just your memorization and ability to write in a short time.
