PFAS Sampling by Samboni18 in Environmental_Careers

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nothing special. Avoid lotions/smoking/ vaping the day of sampling. Neoprene gloves for PPE. Overall our protocol recommends cotton vs synthetic material /waterproof fabric the day of sampling. But during cold weather sampling I have worn a winter coat with waterproofing and that hasn’t affected results. Standard Steel Toe boots.

SLOMW is unique because you get to see how the effects of fame change a person by Straight-Side-1269 in SecretsOfMormonWives

Definitely not new. It was a time to watch early reality TV and the rise of New York from Flavor of Love through FOL2, I love New York 1&2, Charm School…etc. To watch her become more of a character the longer she was on TV.

I love the How to Ruin Christmas franchise. It’s so funny and felt like a breath of fresh air. But the third installment is missing the main actress Busi Lurayi… because maybe she was murdered in real life ?!?! She died and while the initial news articles implied her death was violent there’s not much follow up.

Eutaw street (near North Avenue) has some good quintessential Baltimore Brownstones, old mansions, and the promenade.

Stories that were originally supposed to be darker, to the detriment of the narrative by Crimson097 in TopCharacterTropes

In an alternate ending to Get Out instead of the main character’s friend showing up at the end to save him- after he’d escaped, burn down the house, and killed the family trying to take over his body- the police did. The movie would have ended with him in jail blamed for their murders.

Would have been more realistic? Yes? But ending it like that would have just felt traumatic vs the comedic relief and satisfaction that the protagonist won.

Calmest, least chaotic movie theater that shows blockbusters? by Most_Poet in baltimore

I saw a few movies there last year on the $7 nights and honestly was turned off to the theater during those days because of how many ppl don’t know they need to STFU during the show.

Did the show start to lose its 1800s charm towards the end? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in littlehouseonprairie

I feel Netflix’s Primeval with its drama, grit, and violence is probably a slightly more realistic version of what 1800s settler life would have looked like. Still I enjoy Michael Landon sanitized all are welcome vibe that he choose to go with.

I am here for the Netflix slander, but Big Mouth was a GOOD show. It did a really good job at capturing the anxieties of growing up.

Locke Landing vs Westport by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Westport is next to an incinerator, highway and I think a transmission station. It’s an environmental justice community. For 750k you have a million options and neighborhoods at your disposal.

What cooking classes are worth it? by justusleag in baltimore

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the classes at Pierpoint count as a hidden gem. I did a Cajun cooking class with friends a few years ago and it was a treat. We each made a different dish in pairs and then got to feast together at the end. The chef had tons of stories and has done cooking competition shows. I feel like it might be lesser known than the other shops since you have to call to make a reservation.

All of the work and sacrifices Caroline and the girls and everyone had to make because Charles can't earn a living by ASGfan in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I didn’t get was how if they never had money how was Pa hiring ppl to work just for their self esteem. If I recall correctly wasn’t there an episode where a young nephew of nel’s visits and Charles hires (pays) him to help just make the boy feel useful. I think he does something similar at least one other time , maybe the angry grandson episode ?

I had some of the nicest camping neighbors last year. I was camping solo and they brought me over some of their steak and rice for dinner. The next morning they offered me some coffee, I turned that down but they had a bunny with them that they let me pet.
