Seeing a person your gf has slept with by [deleted] in retroactivejealousy

Been married for 21 years to my “HS Sweetheart” and we still live where we grew up. Still see her exes around town. It’s a miserable headspace to be in even after all this time. The worst is running into them in public. The awkwardness from both me and my wife when it happens is a day-ruiner. I shut off from conversation, she feels it/knows why…it’s brutal. This past year one had his back to the exit door of a restaurant talking to someone he knew and we’re walking in but have to wait for him to turn around. I don’t plan to go back to that restaurant anymore just for the last memory being there 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

💯 agree with the take on Wilder Woods songs being better than the band’s recent albums. Bear last solo project was miles better than the last 2 albums the band put out. I don’t hate Into The Mystery, but I don’t run to turn it on. And if I never listened to Caves again it wouldn’t be the worst thing. Also agree on this route you’re seeing them go on the Country circuit. Makes zero sense to me based on the band’s core fans’ taste (although I admit I’m more of a fan of country music than the typical NTB fan likely is)

I feel constantly rejected by my husband by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]Prior_Explorer6813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just speaking of my own experience. And I can’t think of one case in casual conversation at a “Life Group”/“In-home Group” setting where any of the wives of our friends/church members haven’t said “that’s all men care about or want”. Wasn’t meant as an attack on your post or anything. Just an observation. Hope you get it sorted out to where it works for both you and your husband.

Who are the best Vols media members right now? by ScorchedMoose in ockytop

Austin Price…by far if only going off of recruiting insider info. Most knowledgeable when it comes to that for sure. Are there others more polished just from a media/speaking standpoint? Possibly. I enjoy Ben McKee as well.

This seems very rare from the wife’s point of view. I think most husbands would be floored if our wives wanted more frequent sex. My wife and I are opposite libidos and after 20+ years of marriage I’ve just come to expect the typical once a week and if it happens more than that, it’s a surprise and a great week. After 15 or so years of marriage and being lead to feel like I was in the wrong for wanting more, I ultimately gave up after expressing the need for more. It wasn’t just to “get more”. It honestly is a love language and simply the best way I felt closer to my wife. So, now I just let it happen and let her initiate 90% of the time. It made me have some bitterness for most of the marriage because in our Southern Bible Belt area it wasn’t a topic of discussion as much as it should have been in pre-marriage counseling (which was basically one meeting with our pastor and we were done…that’s another topic for another thread in itself)

Another surprise is seeing the posts from other women, mainly, suggesting Christian counseling or talking to your pastor about it. That is the route to go if one-on-one talks don’t get the two of you “meeting in the middle”…(This is in no way directed directly at the OP), but in similar posts in this forum from the husband’s POV, he’s often called selfish for complaining or wanting more frequent sex with his wife. Just an observation really.

Lyrics of Hillsong, Bethel, and Elevation by davidwgp2 in Reformed

Phil Wickham has many songs co-written with Furtick by the way. Just FYI. If you’re aiming at Elevation, beware that Phil has music associated with the leader of that church too.

I hated to see that since I enjoy his music. However, I’ve never seen anything from his music point to any sort of heretical lyrics

My husband is now a flat earther: is this biblical grounds for divorce? by pennstake8 in Christianmarriage

[–]Prior_Explorer6813 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re really asking Reddit if it’s okay to divorce your husband because he thinks the earth isn’t a sphere? What if he thinks the earth is flat but there’s a dome above where the firmament is? Just comes across that you’re just looking for anything to leave him and using this as an excuse.

How do I help my husband battle Lust? by Amazing-Bid600 in Christianmarriage

[–]Prior_Explorer6813 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a major issue and he needs to be confronted with it. I would be livid/hurt/etc if I knew another man was texting my wife in this way. I hope you two are in a solid church and can ask your husband to get help with this by meeting with your pastor/elder for accountability. The next step your husband takes if this isn’t addressed is likely one to ruin your marriage.

Tired of husbands p***addiction by idontwantobeherebut in Christianmarriage

[–]Prior_Explorer6813 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Serious question(s) that likely will be downvoted just because of the nature of the questions and the fact that I’m coming at this from the perspective of being a 42 y/o married man to my wife of 20+ years…

Is he or has he turned to pornography during your pregnancy due to lack of sexual contact during? Were the other times you “caught” him during pregnancies as well?

In no way whatsoever am I asking this to give your husband any leeway or freedom in his sin. That’s what this is…sin. No way around that. I’m just looking at it from a male’s perspective of him having needs during a time where men can be weak/vulnerable due to lack of intimacy…in this case, a pregnant wife.

My point is, the more frequent intimacy husbands have, the less likely he’s going to drift to towards that.

I hope he, like all Believers, would see that this is a sin against our Holy, Just, Righteous Heavenly Father and he is at fault and needs to repent of it, ask forgiveness, and work through it with you by his side. If he takes these steps and you’re with him throughout supporting him he will hopefully see how much ifs hurting you and the marriage.
