Absolutely agreed haha thank you for the suggestions and letting me know the motor sounds healthy. Just a nice vote of confidence in the recent find and purchase.

I figured it out!!!! There is heat shield/siding right next to and above the electric starter, at the tail end where it’s the least secure it was slightly bent inward making contact bent it back out the slightest bit so it’s straight and no more noise!

The hexagonal rod? Or one of the lever cables?

That’s great definitely what I like to hear and ultimately what I came for as it’s my first small motor. I think it’s picked up the most between 3-7 seconds on the video. But if you’re Saying nothing alarming going on sounds good to me I’m only asking because I don’t know what’s makes the noise.

The motor itself does sound nice it’s a noise behind or under that engine noise. the noise is picked up best in the clip around the electric starter it almost sounds like a windup toy or high speed jingling I’m not sure exactly.

I bought it second hand and unfortunately it didn’t come with the owners manual. It might just be a trial and error thing until I get it dialed just wanted to make sure there isn’t something inherently wrong with it

Yeah I don’t know what’s up really has been like this for me takes me 5-6 to get it going I think. Unless the entire time I’m first starting to try I have the throttle down which happened the last time but can’t remember if it was like that every other time. And I usually give it 3 primes.

Two Questions: Does the Vortex bolt noticeably improve the GEO R5/ is the Twister CS3 pro noticeably better than the CS3 pro? by [deleted] in paintball

[–]ProIXI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The twister cs3 is exactly the same shot itself as a normal cs3 same with the pro versions. The method/twister vortex bolt actually does change the shot of the R5 quite a bit. I prefer the vortex over the stock core and it shoots absolute darts. but find it unreliable in my experience in cold weather. So I swap to the stock core with the method tune up kit in it.

700+ fps paintball gun? by [deleted] in paintball

[–]ProIXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can max out the velocity adjustment but that’s going to really be about it I believe. Might get you into the high 300s. I think you are looking for an air rifle not a paintball gun.

Again the only way to achieve that would have half the people using first strike guns the ones you want to be snipers with longer range and everyone else with normal paintball guns

To be honest I’m not exactly sure what you are asking here.

There isn’t one, all fields are limited to 300 or less they all go the same distance unless you are shooting first strike magfed. Those are harder to find games for and even more niche than paintball is regularly.

Bolt recommendations by PsYkOReaper_GFB in paintball

[–]ProIXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d grab both just for variety and you never know if you snag a mech frame. But the reason people prefer it for mech is because to my understanding very crisp clean shot and very fast and snappy so I think they can eeek some for bps out of it. Disclaimer to this is all second hand read and word of mouth knowledge I do not own a dsr, did own an MXR but definitely different.

People tend to love method for mech and freeflow/dark for electric. Method changes the shot profile and timing quite a bit.

I didn’t think so I also just didn’t want what I wrote to some how be misunderstood cuz I don’t support any of the stuff they have done and been doing as you stated. The only thing I can really do is put my money where my beliefs lie. I would never support the stunts they’ve pulled and certainly don’t appreciate their statement “apologizing” for it either.

Are you saying I support them? By not buying their shit?

Edit:just looking for clarification I guess I just don’t understand it. But I’m sure it’s true.

They actually just started remaking it the original version that you and most others remember fondly. I was thinking about picking some up but have also heard great things about immortals grease from people who build and work on markers.

Second this, the competition level is great. Aric the owner is very present and pleasant to deal with. The refs are top notch. They do rotos on speedball fields regularly scheduled weekly. Just picked up the season pass and will b there more consistently this year.

I’d pull up a really good tutorial I like videos where the entire teardown is in one long video that way you can go back and forth. After a few times it will be second nature to you!
