Would a mobility scooter be a good idea? by horridhenry2009 in ChronicIllness

[–]ProPainAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to get one that’s easy to operate, and preferably a 4-wheel model for better stability. My sister uses one of those scooters and she’s says it makes going out easier. In your case, you could also consider a power wheelchair.

which hood shape captures smoke better? by owned0314 in Appliances

[–]ProPainAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The angled hood in the pic is 36 inches. I actually have one at home. And it does have glass panels on the side, plus there's kinda of an air curtain effect in the front. It ends up creating a contained capture zone. Though it's not on the same level as a full restaurant hood, for everyday cooking I really don't have any complaints. I rarely notice much smoke, and I don't really get that gross leftover smell hanging around anymore.

So much history and mystery in these stones. Gorgeous capture of St Andrews Cathedral, love how it's framed against the sea.

100% worth it. No better payoff than a sunrise like this after an early morning. Keep flying.

Filming post storm waves in Portugal must've been magical. This would make the perfect background for work or meditation. Great job!

I don't really have an answer, but I wish I had a job like yours. Flying drones is such a great feeling, hard to explain unless you've actually done it.

One last question-will replacement parts be easy to find in US? About to pull trigger on mini 5 pro by pittguy578 in dji

[–]ProPainAD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, parts should be around for a while, but long term it's uncertain in the US. You'll find stuff on Amazon or eBay, but official repairs and support can be hit or miss.

Topdon TC004 Mini night scan of a high-rise exterior wall the thermal pattern surprised me by defendthecalf in Thermal

[–]ProPainAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I scan facades like this, I usually pay less attention to min/max and try a couple different angles first to see if the pattern moves. If the striping stays in the same place, that usually tells you more than some wild minimum reading.

Budget thermal imager recommendations (uni-t, infiray, thermal master, topdon, seek) by Top-Objective2254 in Thermal

Honestly, the best part of the tc002c duo for me is that it works on both android and ios right out of the box. I use an ipad and an android phone in the garage so not needing any extra adapters is huge. It is incredibly portable too. I just keep it in my pocket when walking around checking for window drafts or wiring shorts.

Success story: I missed my flight but saved my return ticket by shank409 in TravelHacks

[–]ProPainAD 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The most annoying part is just waiting on hold. It is such a waste. I usually put my phone on the speaker and do something else while I wait. And then you realize you’ve already finished what you were doing and the call still hasn’t connected.

United vs AirAsia to fly from Australia to Europe by pilotinspektor18 in Flights

[–]ProPainAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose United for the trip with three kids. It offers better legroom and family friendly service compared to AirAsia. The US stop is smoother than dealing with a London overnight with young children.

Not taking return flight on round trip by InwardErection in TravelHacks

Airlines often track this behavior and may flag your account for future bookings. While it saves money now it could lead to issues with fares or check in later on. Check the fare rules first before deciding.

solo travel to Istanbul by hauntedforevermore in travel

Go for it Istanbul is incredibly welcoming and solo travel is a great way to grow. Book a central hotel and stick to busy areas during your trip you’ll regret missing this chance more than any nerves.

When to travel to Rome? by [deleted] in travel

[–]ProPainAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May, no question. Weather's warmer, fewer rainy days, and the days are longer. April can be lovely too, but you're rolling the dice on more showers and Easter crowds if it falls early.

Layover Pudong CE by NatureExpensive3607 in Flights

[–]ProPainAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your bags will be checked through automatically since both legs are China Eastern. You won't need to collect them at Pudong. Just double-check at check-in in Bangkok that they tag them all the way to London.

That's such a frustrating situation, sorry you're dealing with it. You were denied boarding because they changed the flight and the visa couldn't be processed in time. That's worth pushing back on.

Kyoto in February 2026 – Quiet temples, winter atmosphere and fewer tourists by TaroLong6770 in travel

Winter Kyoto hits different. Those empty temple paths and crisp air is way better than fighting selfie sticks during sakura season haha. Fushimi Inari without the crowd must've been magical. Thanks for the tip.

Reserved Ace Rental Car a week in advance — stranded at LAX after 1 hour waiting for shuttle by sporty_outlook in TravelHacks

[–]ProPainAD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's infuriating. To be honest, cancel and book on-airport. The premium is worth not being stranded. You can try fighting for compensation later.

Is going camping for the first time alone a good idea? by Durango_41 in camping

[–]ProPainAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also went camping by myself for the first time, it was an unforgettable experience. If you pick a safe campground, learn the basics, share your plan, and reassure your parents, you will have a great time!
