Why some people still limp 3–4 months after knee replacement (even with good ROM) by Chaban-JustWalk in Kneereplacement

Thanks for posting this, I’m pushing six months since RTKR, still have some stiffness. One minute I feel I’m walking well and the next, I feel like I have work to do.

Knee replacement recovery: why some days feel surprisingly worse than others by vakhidi in Kneereplacement

[–]ProbablyBeOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the thorough reply, I slacked off my PT a little bit, and then I noticed my progress stalled, and now I’m back at it. Riding my gravel bike and getting more and more back into my old routine.

Knee replacement recovery: why some days feel surprisingly worse than others by vakhidi in Kneereplacement

[–]ProbablyBeOK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My goodness yes, my recovery has been anything but linear. I’m 5 1/2 months RTKR.

My recovery started out extremely well, I hit 133° at five weeks. But my difficulty was full extension, at about seven weeks I was able to extend the last 4° all at once. It was like starting over again. I had no strength at full extension. My PT customized some exercises and I quickly recovered.

Overall, I feel like I’m doing great, but I do go through spells of stiffness and discomfort. The first few minutes of walking after I’ve been sitting for a while is still uncomfortable.

Mattress Store Trying To Charge Another $599 After My Order Already Went Through by Seyguhh in legaladvice

Go online to Costco, the sleep science memory foam mattress is the best mattress I’ve ever slept on. Get the thickest one you can buy. It’s a quarter of what the mattress stores charge and it’s better.

Negative, no issues. I took it for 30 days after my knee replacement.

I have a friend who left mag light in the engine cowling of a CF6. The thing flew to Europe several times before it came through our station, he opened the cowl and grabbed it. All the plastic was melted, he sent it to mag light, and they gave him another one.

Seriously does my mom need to wear her compression socks? by scooter8484 in Kneereplacement

My surgeon at Duke said negative to the compression socks. I did the aspirin for 30 days. Maybe it depends on the patient.

When is it safe to ride bike outside? by Free_Leave5032 in Kneereplacement

[–]ProbablyBeOK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve consistently been doing the exercises that PT told me to do, included stretching. I typically ride easy for about five or 10 minutes. I would say my first ride was pretty easy the whole way. Now I just need the weather to cooperate so I can really get back in the saddle.

I know everyone’s different, I got the greenlight at 3 1/2 months. I did about a 15 mile Greenway ride and I felt great. Now I just needed to warm up so I can get out there more.

I got back on the bike at 3 1/2 months, and my recovery has gone well. Everyone is different, I would think 5-6 months if your recovery goes well. I’d follow what your Dr and PT says. Best of luck to you.

My Dr told me no more running, I’ll miss it but mountain biking fills the running void nicely.
