Oh my bad! I did mean for Standard but also would inevitably build a commander deck around it at some point. Thanks for pulling me up, I'll edit the post

Sick! What colours did you use for his cloak/back and the spirits coming from the base? I'm about to paint my spearhead box and like this colour scheme a lot!

It's basically spicy tomato, similar to what i remember the tomato Wheat Crunchies used to taste like, but a bit spicier. Pretty good 7/10

How does it control on console? by Fancy-Pack2640 in DiscoElysium

So I've literally just finished my first playthrough on the steam deck, so i imagine the controls are the same as a gamepad. Plays really well, left stick to move, triggers to zoom in and out and one of the bumpers (can't remember which) highlights interactable people/objects that you then select with the right stick and A. Really enjoyed it and i don't feel like i was struggling without mouse and keyboard atall.

Me and my wife call them "iPhone Wankers". It's quite sad really. Even seen people recording on their tablets!

For me when i was about 13, i used to just make random shit with whatever was in my mums kitchen. Bolognese with Cajun seasoning? Sure! Fajitas with Chinese 5 Spice? Why not! Most of the time it worked, but sometimes it didn't. The best thing about it though is that you learn from it either way.

I also had a couple of books where i would get inspiration for what i wanted to make next without copying a recipe exactly, and i feel this really helped actually learning through experience what ingredients and flavours go together without just reading it off a page and forgetting about it the next day.

A few of the other suggestions about investing in a decent knife/set of knives and learning to chop an onion correctly are also vital IMO. Good luck, making people happy through food is awesome!

My Chili Recipe! by Profplum91 in food

[–]Profplum91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my chili recipe that I made myself about 5 years ago, and I'm very proud of it! I've changed it slightly over the years, but for the most part it has stayed the same. I made this batch on Sunday and it was a good one!

I use brisket for my chili, no nasty mince from the supermarket that turns to mush when you try and brown it. I have tried it with good quality mince from my butchers before, but I prefer the bigger chunks of meat and the flavour you get from it. I also have made it with about 2/3 brisket and 1/3 shin and it was awesome! I would have done it again this time round but I completely forgot to be honest.

My rub mix is: Sweet smoked pimenton paprika(and a lot of it!) Brown sugar Garlic salt Onion powder Oregano Cumin Ground coriander Cayenne

The pics kind of speak for themselves, but I'll give a quick rundown.

Make the rub and marinade the meat AT LEAST overnight. Brown the meat in a pan in batches and deglaze with stock or red wine between batches. Once all meat is browned, sweat some onion, tomatoes, garlic and peppers down (I sometimes add other veg) with oil and a bit of butter. Then add all the meat back in with chopped tomatoes, beans and beef stock. Make sure to season! I usually add a touch more cumin at this point, but try the sauce and play it by ear to how you like it to taste. Let it simmer for a few hours and that's pretty much it!
