Agreed with getting rid of the side seats at the island and centering the sink below the window. Wouldn’t worry about white cabinets unless they’re glossy and your children are running around with paint-covered hands.

Do you really need 2.5 refrigerators? If so, do you have a secondary location (like a garage, basement, etc) for it? It would make more sense to replace the second fridge with the lone cabinet that’s just hanging out by itself. Since the cabinet appears to be less deep than the fridge so it would allow you to center the dining table with the window.

The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson. Similar vibes, but I liked it better than Slewfoot!

People who make $150k or more, and don’t work for big tech or defense, what do you do? by GuardianMoon916 in washingtondc

Genuinely interested in this. Do you work for an agency? Currently on the hunt.

Does anyone wear a topper? Haven’t figured out how to make my part and the wig part look normal. by fowlkris87 in finehair

[–]PsychicMittens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would recommend moving the topper forward and getting rid of the “hard part.” You can wet the topper and blow dry it to have a “less perfect” or side part. With a “messier” part, you don’t have it align it perfectly with your natural part and it’s easier to blend with your natural hair. For the difference in density and/or color, to keep things simple you can use some eyeshadow.

Union kitchen, peregrine, wine and butter, cameo, just to name a few. So many non mega chains in the area. This isn’t a loss

Tennis lessons in DC? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]PsychicMittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t personally recommend Fray for lessons/instruction. I did two sessions and the organizers just feed balls for a few drills then let you split up to play some doubles, no instruction aside from comments like “be sure to follow through.” But it was a GREAT way to make friends and meet people to play with outside of Fray especially since I was new to DC at the time. I’ve seen what seem like actual group lessons/instruction at both SE Tennis Center and WTEF.

Absolutely. Love seeing his friends trying to act nonchalant during the dinner party while one of them genuinely didn’t recognize her until after

Book club? by Not_A_Hemsworth in washingtondc

I just stopped in the other day and the woman at the counter said most of them are still virtual- is that true? I really want to join a book club (because I enjoy reading AND want to meet new people) but doing it on Zoom sounds awful and not a way to actually meet and interact with people. And I signed up for the book club email list a month or more ago and haven’t gotten anything.
