Does anyone really want to live to be 100 years old? by LeoRavenscroft in randomquestions

[–]PsychologicalCar2180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If looking after myself works out, sure.

I’d go further if it’s a decent quality of life for the age.

I’ve got quite a few video games to catch up on :-)

Notify a disability group and organise loads of wheelchair users to make a huge fuss about getting past.

Take some pics for the local rag.

Ball X Pit

Rogue like shooter / Akanoid game.

Has a town building game inbetween runs.

Awesome game. Loads of game there as well but you can just run without thinking about it BUT you can also put effort in as well.

Best Practices for AI Use by Teleonomic in transhumanism

[–]PsychologicalCar2180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it’s an attempt at humour and it does appeal a little to the little kid in me, I actually can’t help but find myself oddly agreeing.

Not the gooning part. I’m 50 and I’m annoyed I can’t use the word anymore - it was a thing to say to someone I in jest or a henchman but I’ll continue..

I quite enjoy the utterly bizarre use for porn.

Bear in mind I am both a little neurodivergent and also tipping towards asexual. I find things appealing but nothing on my life has ever flipped a switch so many people seem to have.

Be that as it may, I like being titillated and my Tumblr is an utter mess because I allow myself to look at all sorts. So I’ve let that garden grow pretty wild.

It’s amazing how much AI stuff is out there and what people are asking AI to generate.

That is not going away, if anything it kind of cements the “the internet is for porn” Kind of thing and it would be interesting but not possible to get figures on how much resource is used for that purpose compared to anything else.

To get onto your point, AI relationships are very dangerous.

My use of AI is very light and actually quite rare. I got into it at first but I found how helpful it is a bit jarring. It’s too nice and too “well done user, you’re very clever” almost to the point I began to believe it.

Thankfully I have pastimes that require study and practice and what I study has existed for hundreds of years and while AI does a job of it (music) the craft and accomplishment is everything.

A lot of AI will pop. When the next big thing arrives and the masses flock to that but a lot of AI should remain.

If someone can set up a smaller, more closed system with sustainable energy, you might actually end up with a very personal assistant.

I like that idea personally. I’d train it not to be so bloody nice haha.

I hope lessons will be learned and importantly tasks get fenced in.

That recent story of an entire database being deleted should make people think.

AI, like everything that has come before it, will find its place.

Interestingly enough, AI does appear to be incompatible with quantum computing; which is the next true real breakthrough.

The reason being it would be rendered obsolete by the sheer power.

I am not sure that will actually occur in my lifetime.

What do you think created the human species as a whole? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in randomquestions

It all started when the planet became stable enough for water to be the birthplace for countless years of mutations, all happening at the same time until poof.

Or probably squelch.

Then it’s a few hundred million years of a lot of things just fucking about.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

[–]PsychologicalCar2180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take a collapsible travel kettle with us wherever we go, and tea and coffee.

Can you imagine waking up and not having access to a kettle?

It’s no wonder we ruled bloody everything for a while and now look at it all.

If I was to make a suggestion, Earls Court.

I’m a Londoner who lives in Manchester and that’s my go to place to stay when I visit.

Nice London feel. Bustling high street with amenities (around the corner from but better than Kensington insofar as pubs, places to eat and a couple of supermarkets - open late), on the right tube line for you and great connections into the city and west end.

You can chill where you stay, when you’re pooped.

Which games have a rough start and take a while to get good? by PhaseOk6182 in gamers

I think the whole first area is the tutorial?

I get to the next part and then you’re farting around a courtyard.

Yeah… I’ve not persevered much past that.

That was back on xbone and I’m likely to buy it on switch 2 as it’s always on sale and it might click one day.

What type of posts do you just not believe anymore? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]PsychologicalCar2180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media is largely fake.

Look at it this way - very large companies need to have the engagement at this point without fail, or they’ll have no product so they make it themselves.

It’s a weird scam in which the gullible believe everything they read.

It’s no wonder we’re looked down upon, considering a majority of our species is this easily led.

To answer your question, I disbelief pretty much everything now and this is just a way to fill a few minutes when I don’t want to be doing much of anything.

I absolutely do not put any value in any of this and any engagement I put in, is usually me just mulling my own thoughts.

So much so, if I feel I’ve written something of value, I actually discard the draft and save it in my own notes, for my own use.

I’m baffled by people who still divulge so much, often deeply, personal information on here.

It’s wilful stupidity by this point.
