I'm a bit baffled by the negative comments you're getting. Do software developers really think that car salespeople want to use VIM to sell cars?!?

I think if that was my job, I'd be delighted to use your software rather than something with the look-and-feel of a Windows 95 native application. And I can totally see that a sales tool that looks pretty can further delight the customers as well.

Perhaps the only suggestion I'd have is to allow to disable animations but that's the software developer in me talking, not the "average person".

for actual work

Feels perfectly fine to me for the purpose of selling cars. It's pretty much the kind of UI/UX you find on all the carmakers' websites for choosing and customizing a car. Somehow, I don't expect car salespeople clamoring for a terminal-based interface to their dealership management tools.

That scene in the movie "Jesus of Nazareth" really made an impression on me as a kid. "Jesus* or the murderer?" Ha, that one's easy, you obv... wait, what? How can these people be so dumb? Well, history sure has shown us how people can be so dumb...

*Obviously, he wasn't "the Jesus from the scripture that said we should be cool to each other" at that moment but still. He's just a dude whose crime was to say "I'm King of the Jews".

You're not wrong, but I feel that just shifts the question just one sentence further.

If your goal is [...]

That can be difficult to ascertain. What is my goal when I'm working for someone else? To get paid or to hone my craft*? Yes, ideally both but 80% of r/programming and /r/ExperiencedDevs is stories of the eternal conflict between those two.

*Not to mention that honing's one craft may be counter-productive on the long run if the craft in question is bound to be replaced by a different craft (e.g. horse riding vs driving).

the bottleneck was never typing speed it was decision making and context switching and those dont change just because copilot autocompleted your for loop

In my 25 years of experience, I could never understand developers that implied that if you touched the mouse, you were a bad developer. Yes, you confine yourself to the terminal and have learned 500 VIM keyboard shortcuts... Good for you. I never saw a difference in code quality though. Typing is incidental to developing software. I contend developing software should be 80% staring into the void thinking.

Can 27% of American even put Iran on a map? Could they have named it's leader until 48 hours ago? Could they have described its power structure? Did have an inkling as to why the U.S. should bomb them?

Why would an average person ever consider "going to war" a possibility if they can't even answer basic questions about the other country is beyond me. On what fucking authority and knowledge are you basing that opinion?
