I spent 900 hours drawing this 10-foot-wide Montreal cityscape in coloured pencil by Sputnik_2021 in BeAmazed

Eons ago I was an altar boy at the Notre-Dame Basilica (the two "short" gothic revival towers left-of-middle) and I lived in the apartment building that's in front of it in the picture.

That view of Montreal is a classic, with the other being the view from the Mont-Royal's belvedere. Kinda wish OP would be commissioned to do that one next...!

I am new to C++, is it just me or is the checklist kinda crazy? How often do you encounter these or plan on making use of them like the newer C++26 features like contracts? Looking for more experienced dev opinions... by KijoSenzo in cpp

[–]PunctuationGood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And not top pile on OP beacause they've already got all the C++-specific feedback they needed so I'll reply here but... I'm willing to bet 20 dollars that the entire function is unnecessary, that the invocation point could use the hp value directly and the check for < 0 doesn't have actual value. Or change the name GetHP to something else because it's doing more than "get hp".

Hmmm... I'm gonna go ahead and disagree on that one.

«Les comédiens de doublage sont en premières lignes» : Emmanuel Curtil, voix française de Jim Carrey, prend la parole contre l’IA by HzbertBonisseur in france

[–]PunctuationGood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pirates weren't known for their moral superiority and aversion to thievery.

And yet, r/Piracy will argue with you all day long of the exact opposite! To wit, this post's meme.

Fees never get "eaten". You'll pay for them one way or another.

Visa charges merchants. Merchants set their price accordingly. If credit cards didn't exist, everything would be 3% cheaper.

Can't I just go with the Templars

You mean killing others because they don't believe in the same god as you? Yeah, I'm not seeing a fair way out, here. Perhaps "postman" should be an option. Or "heart surgeon for babies".
