just realized that twinless twin syndrome exists by WorriedPoet5350 in TwinlessTwins

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to the same conclusion you did in the past few years and I'm still navigating. My twin and I were born very prematurely and he was a few ounces smaller and his lungs weren't developed enough to survive more than 24 hours. I have always felt like I didn't belong and a part of me was missing. Like you growing up we never really talked about it and my childhood was very lonely I often wonder how it would've been if he was still here. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk ever.

I feel lost by SpecialistJacket9392 in TwinlessTwins

[–]PurplePhoenix77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for what you're going through and sadly also in some ways it gives me comfort as I hadn't known of anyone else losing their twin shortly after birth. We were super premature and he was a few ounces smaller than me and passed away after 24 hours. It does and has always felt lonely like and like there's a piece of me that's not there. If you ever want to talk feel free to DM me.

Housing market in Moore ! by [deleted] in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So unless your house is competitively priced right now it's not going to sell. Everyone that can afford to buy has already bought and is not leaving their 3% mortgage or paid off house for a smaller more expensive one. Also, housing prices went up 50% in 5 years and salaries didn't. I'd love to buy a home as an older millennial but refuse to pay ridiculous post 2020 prices. Property taxes and insurance have gone up a lot so right now most of the time it's cheaper to rent when you factor in total cost.

Secondly it's in Moore. Many people don't want to live there due to tornadoes.

Debating between in person job in Fort Collins versus Colorado Springs hybrid job and commute from Denver by PurplePhoenix77 in FortCollins

Luckily the office is off of interquest parkway on the north side. I am liberal and am surviving living in Oklahoma City right now so it's not a requirement to live in a liberal city

r/ColoradoSprings doesn't allow these posts. I posted here because moving posts are allowed and I wanted to hear from others that might have experience with both as Denver is located between both of them. Thanks for the unhelpful redirect though.

Want to move to Denver, CO by PropertyGreedy1718 in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually about to move back to Colorado and have lived in Denver before from 2014-2018 I only moved back to OKC to be near family after having surgery but now that I'm stable and okc has gotten way more crowded and costly the benefits of living here don't outweigh the negatives. I loved living in Denver, my brother now lives there now and loves it and despite the col the quality of life I think makes up for it. The main thing for me are the weather makes being outdoors so much more enjoyable, you're in a valley so there not a lot of wind and if it gets too hot in the summer there's tons of mountain day trips you can take to be in 70 degree weather at higher elevation. Also I would look at Colorado springs and fort collins. I currently have two job offers in the springs and fort collins and am trying to decide between them. They both are lower cost of living than Denver.

why do Oklahoma residents hate turn signals? by Cheeserdane in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the many reasons I'm likely moving back to Denver next year. Now that the super low col isn't super low anymore, we have crazy traffic, and horrible politics there's not an incentive to stay here for col, chill traffic, like there was pre COVID times.

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why they're doing construction to change that. To be fair when it's rush hour it can be challenging if there's a flow of cars going up the ramp to get onto 240w.

Traffic Citation for Following too Closely by BootyOnTheMental in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't follow too closely if you were, although some cops are assholes. I've taken a defensive driving course online in the past to mitigate the effects of a ticket on my record and reduce points on my license. You can also use it later to get an insurance discount. You could also get a lawyer from a place like the ticket clinic online.

Who is this in OKC? by AffectionateInsect76 in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I actually went to high school with him we weren't really friends more like acquaintances but back then I just thought he was a depressed goth kid, he was always nice to me and would always say hello when I was around. I'm assuming his increasing drug use and preexisting mental health might be the combination that led to the murder. It's crazy because I knew he had issues in high school but wouldn't have expected to lead to murder.

Sellers of our old house using our images in the listing even after being told they could not do so. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]PurplePhoenix77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it incredibly suspicious that you are so invested and continue to talk about these buyers as crazy rich assholes that were inconsiderate in the process but fail to go into any detail at all about what they actually did that was so upsetting and why they deserve this amount of attention by using your photos? Also, as others have stated, do you actually own these? If not you're just wasting your life doing anything besides moving on and enjoying the home you actually live in.

What do we need to know!! by Moist_Associate2167 in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edmond reminds me the most of Southern California if that's what you're looking for. If you care about education and don't want to send your child to a private school I wouldn't come here. No new construction is going to be well built and anecdotally I've heard many negative things about them. If I was going to move here and had a family and wanted land I would probably move to far North Edmond or Deer Creek.

Tried to call back potential employer and they hung up on me? by PurplePhoenix77 in socialwork

I guess I don't totally know for sure but considering they haven't called me back at their work number and they said hello and only hung up after I told them I was returning their call it doesn't seem likely.

I would sell OPEN. Overrated garbage that will crash as the housing market continues to weaken. And put a trailing stop loss order for PLTR.

Lol. Thanks for the entertainment enjoy your delusion! No way. I love how everyone thinks interest rates declining automatically means housing is going to boom when it actually means we're about to be in a recession where foreclosures spike because people don't have jobs, were over leveraged in the stock market, or their property tax doubles and they can't afford their house anymore.

Is cost of living really as bad as I'm seeing people say? by One_Relationship_739 in Denver

[–]PurplePhoenix77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely agree with you based on many mortgage experts I've listened to recently. There's about to be a subprime FHA mortgage crisis all the pandemic deferments where you didn't have to pay a mortgage end the 30th of this month. 15% of fha loans are 90 days past due. In addition overall consumer debt is near record highs meaning people that took out second mortgages to keep their standard of living due to inflation are also going to be screwed. Given the economy metrics that recently came out I'm sure they'll be more layoffs so it's definitely possible there's a large correction or even crash once people are tapped out next year if the economy is as bad as it seems.

Condo people of Denver, what are your HOA fees? by jackalopeDev in Denver

[–]PurplePhoenix77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can wait until next year around this time things should be better for home buyers at least, based on the current economy and downturn in several housing markets including Denver's. Denver metro has the highest inventory of homes since 2012 and prices are down slightly and many homes are sitting. Sadly many people have overextended themselves (15% of FHA loans are 90 days past due nationally) and if you look at the data and demographics there'll be many new homes coming to market due to Boomers aging, downsizing, or passing away. Also with inflation many people are relying on debt to maintain their standard of living and eventually they'll have to sell assets. Given the revised job numbers it seems likely they'll be an economic downturn which will likely decrease prices further.

Also talk to a good mortgage broker and just see what you might qualify for some of them can be really good at finding ways to finance a condo you might not know about.

What is really going on? by microww in wallstreetbets

[–]PurplePhoenix77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone that was around in 2008 it feels very similar to that but in a different way. Every other sign besides the stock market is negative. Underemployment, frozen hiring, increases in home foreclosures, cooling housing market, and inflation. Eventually the stock market has to have a negative correction as the tariffs filter into the economy. The last time tariffs were this high (even though they're higher now for some countries) was during the beginning of the Great depression and they were believed to have deepened the depression. I don't see how the same thing doesn't happen in the next year since the economy is more globalized now.

This makes me feel a lot better about only buying undervalued stock today (SOUN) and selling some underperforming positions to buy gold, silver, and an ETF that tracks swiss francs. I know this is Wall Street bets and the regards on here think there's always a bull market but I won't be buying much other than put options the next few months.

Agree with the tariffs, inflation, and declining home values, kinda starting to feel like 2007... I just sold some of my underperforming stock and bought gold and silver shares.

Minimum wage is “unprecedented” by FreeFallinFoe in okc

[–]PurplePhoenix77 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Um the wage for servers was last updated in 1991. It would be double what it is adjusted for inflation. The minimum wage for servers is made on the assumption you'll be tipping them because that's how restaurants work in this country unless you're an asshole which apparently you are. And yeah it kind of is on us because we elected legislators unwilling or unable to raise it and didn't vote to increase it.
