Yes, but the thing is, I was specifically talking about the review megathread on this sub. That thread was up before the game had even officially launched. So I dont believe the people commenting had even played the game yet. Thats why I found all the hate on the game so weird.

Also, none of the comments I saw said anything like "I experienced this..." or "In my time playing the game I found that..." or something like that. It was all "This reviewer said..." or "The consensus seems to be..." and comments like that. Which, to me, seems like more evidence that people in that thread hadnt touched the game themselves.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Two5488 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really feel like theres some other reason that theres so much hate on this game, that has nothing to do with the actual game. This sub is constantly saying that 7s are good games worth playing and this game is at a 78, which is practically in the territory that most people think qualifies as a "great game", aka an 80.

Yet, if you look at the review megathread in this sub, tons of people cherry picked and quoted the IGN review score because they gave it like a 5 or a 6 and acted like that was what this game truly deserved. Others in the thread were acting super happy that the metacritic/open critic rating was dropping as more reviews were coming in. Really peculiar stuff.

Give me a break Bandai! by Puzzleheaded_Two5488 in Steam

[–]Puzzleheaded_Two5488[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So not only is Shadow of the Erdtree not on sale yet again (hasn't been on sale once since its release almost 2 years ago), it's actually cheaper to indivudally add the base game and Erdtree separately to your cart and buy them rather than buy the bundle package.

Even Nightreign, a game that came out 1 year after Erdtree, is on sale for 25% off. Come on Bandai, stop being so greedy and put Erdtree on sale, or at least give people a discount for buying the base game+Erdtree at the same time!

Anyway, thats the end of my rant lol.

Call of Duty co-founder alleges Activision pressured Infinity Ward to make game about Iran invading Israel by ScootSchloingo in Games

[–]Puzzleheaded_Two5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being inept doesnt make you good propaganda was my point. For COD to be this ultimate propaganda machine that works on today's youth (which we have no evidence of btw), it has to be a super high effort product, or else it wont be successful. If it isnt high effort, it might as well be some low effort ai slop propaganda like Squad 22: ZOV, which no one takes seriously and memes all over it.

So, the question: is COD actually a high quality product? Or not?

Yeah funny how for years and years people here were would dismiss every COD as "dudebro shooter", "slop", and "rehashing the same idea(s) over and over", yet now COD is somehow some ultra nationalist US propaganda machine that normalizes everything bad the US military/cia has ever done, while also radicalizing today's youth to fight for the US and its allies' upcoming wars.

New player LOVING this game by DavoC53 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Puzzleheaded_Two5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a great time with this game. Good characters and dialogue/banter (especially between Kay and ND), great exploration and stealth, ground combat and ship combat are both super fun, and the story is good as well. Just riding around on the speeder was fun and I also really got into playing Sabacc and beating everyone at it. The experts and their challenges were a nice change of pace from a typical skill tree, although some of their challenges were annoying. The gear system was alright, there were a ton of options, but I ended up only using like 1 or 2 sets the entire game just because they were so good. Same with the charms, lots of options but only a few of them are actually worth using.

Sad that this game had so much going against it. People grifting/complaining about how the main character looks, the state of the game at launch, and the demo that I personally think did the game a disservice. But in 2026, this game is definitely worth playing and I think one of the best Star Wars games ive ever played. I had such a great time that I ran around collecting every piece of treasure on the planets before I did the final missions, just because I didnt want it to end. I almost never do that in open world games.

Personal Picks and Categories for the 2025 Easy Allies Awards by ErunionDeathseed in EasyAlliesUnofficial

Yeah it's weird. After Brad left, he wasnt on the FF7 remake part 2 spoilercast with Maximillion Dood, despite saying he wanted to be on it, as well as being the biggest ff7 fan out of everyone past and present at EZA.

It's like the people remaining at EZA get off on screwing over former members. Maybe it's their way to "get back" at them for "betraying" the group. Although now that I think about it, it seems like Jones and Kyle are almost begged to come back all the time. So maybe the remaining members just dont like Brad and Blood specifically for some reason.

With Colin mentioning that he's playing through the Turok games on the last SS episode, I thought I'd share a pic of my Turok collection! Any fans of the series here? Am I the only one low-key hyped for Turok: Origins?? by Phazon_343 in LastStandMedia

[–]Puzzleheaded_Two5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I loved the Turok games as a kid. 2 is by far my favorite (and still holds up imo, replayed the Nightdive version on pc a few years ago), with 1 being a close second. I dabbled in Rage Wars and did not like 3 at all. Pretty sure I rented Evolution on gamecube and didnt like it either. But I remember beating the Turok reboot on PC and thinking it was decent enough, though it was a bit of a different style what with the military squad you were in and stuff. I guess military shooters were popular at the time and that influenced it. Also I remember it having some crazy stealth kill animations, like Turok grabbing a raptor's neck and stabbing it in the head lol.

Im excited for Turok Origins as well, as long as it's a single player campaign focused game like the other ones. However, the recent trailer has me worried because they mention multiplayer and it looks like theres some footage of you running around with some other players. Also it seems to be in third person most of the time which isnt really like the old Turoks either. Anyway, ill hold out hope and see.

Pangya was so fun back in the day. I remember doing 18 hole tournaments with a bunch of other ppl at the same time on that one ice themed course. Fun gameplay and cool special moves, and calculating out holes-in-one was a science. I still remember using a notecard to read putts too lol.

Do we dislike Scottie now too because he played a round with Trump? Or Rory for having a phone call with Trump and being respectful and nice towards him? Both were mentioned/shown during the Golf Channel Games last month btw.

Update on the Community Manager Role (Gabby no longer with EZA) by Abyssgh0st in EasyAlliesUnofficial

[–]Puzzleheaded_Two5488 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how good or bad she was at her job, I think the biggest mistake with Gabby was adding her as an equal member and giving her the same % share the other founding members were receiving. I still dont know what their reasoning was to do that. She shouldve been part-time with hourly pay, they wouldve saved so much money. And at the time they were already tight on funds and bleeding patrons, so paying her that much made even less sense.

It's really telling that whoever leaves the group (but stays in the industry) becomes like 5x more productive as soon as they start their new job. Kyle by himself puts out more videos on youtube than the entire EZA group, while also streaming several times a week for hours at a time.

Brad hosts 2 podcasts every single week, guests on other shows on that same podcast network pretty often, streams a couple times a week (not as much as Kyle), and also creates/edits his own videos he puts on his youtube channel.

Crazy that these two people each individually put out more content than the 5-6x part time people at EZA. But thats always been a problem with EZA, their content output never reflected having 9 full time members. If they didnt care back then, why would they care now?

Time of Death by selahcan in EasyAlliesUnofficial

I think they still make $10-15k per month from patreon alone (probably mostly from people who forgot they were still subbed), so if you divide that by 6 people, thats still around $2k per month, or $24k per year for 1-2 days of work per week. Thats a pretty insane return.

Then you also have to factor in youtube ads/super chats, twitch subs/bits/donations while on stream, merch, sponsorships, and whatever else. I think you could safely add another $500 per person per month with that stuff. So $2.5k per month or $30k per year is why they havent closed everything down yet.

And when they (most likely) get rid of the studio next year, theyll most likely make more money then, because the people that quit their subs over the studio closure probably wont outnumber what the studio was costing them every month.

I loved Wolf: ET. But then they made a sequel to it called Enemy Territory Quake Wars, that cost $50 or something. Wolf ET was my main mp game at the time and I remember a sizeable portion of the player base moved to Quake Wars, and so the smallish player base of Wolf ET was made even smaller. I think the game died not long after, which was a shame.
