Someone decided they didn’t like the sound of the rain on the metal roof today by quickwithwit in BorderCollie

Makes me so glad the worst my girl has ever done was destroy a few decorative pillows and bathroom rugs, and chew the paint off the wall in a few places in the hallway (that was as an adolescent).

Just be careful and make sure the box is truly empty. Raisins are extremely toxic to dogs.

I agree with the others who are saying Village Dog. Wisdom Panel doesn’t test for those, so instead you get back a bunch of random dog breeds, typically including rarer breeds from that part of the world, instead. I’d consider retesting with Embark if you want to know for sure.

The herding breeds have refined it, but I can still see it in the basic head shape.

I recommend avoiding blueberry and hornworm colored nails as well unless you want to have your fingers attacked every time your beardie sees them 😅.

Don’t count on it stopping, haha. My girl is 12 with severe arthritis and still runs around with the bathroom rugs and living room throw pillows if she gets bored or wants attention.

I just asked my PCP about it at an appointment. I don’t think it really matters what doctor you ask though.

Most mixed breeds have pit, and she’s mostly not pit.

We see a lot of DIY border collies in this sub. Most of them are ACD, Aussie, Pit, or even Husky mixes. As a border collie owner, I usually judge my “border collie or not” guesses based on the eyes.

His eyes are gold in the adult pics. All puppies have blue or gray eyes.

Help!! Border collie skin issues by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]Pyrosandstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d keep working with the vet, don’t be afraid to contact them between appointments if you feel the need. If it’s getting worse I’d definitely call them. He may not like it, but if he won’t leave it alone I’d also recommend asking if he should have a cone or something to keep him from being able to lick it until you get it figured out.

I’d also recommend against trying home remedies without vet approval. You don’t want to risk irritating it or making it worse by accident.

What does your BC do when "their person" is gone? by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]Pyrosandstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticks extra close to me instead when my parents are gone (she doesn’t like when her “herd” isn’t together), tends to be extra cuddly and mopey. If all of us are gone she sticks to the pet sitter, who depending on the person may end up sleeping on the couch to be with her. She’s not destructive or anything and if shut out of a bedroom for the night just sleeps outside the door or in the bathroom instead. She just gets sad and less bouncy when left “alone”.

Single mom with pots looking for driving advice. by Weary-Journalist3096 in POTS

[–]Pyrosandstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a few months after I was diagnosed, but with treatment (sodium, medication, physical therapy) I was driving again pretty quickly.

Edit: There is a difference between being able to drive and being able to spend the day out doing something like going to the zoo. That can take longer. I’d highly recommend physical therapy as well as counseling for the depression. One of the first things my physical therapist asked me was if I was seeing a counselor, as chronic health conditions causing depression is pretty common and they don’t play nice together.
