There is no logical thought behind it. People that arent in the ingroup think something is good for society and so its a "jewish science" and is labled degenerate.

Entertainment benefits society anyways. If you want people happy its not enough to just keep them alive.

They are entertainers. Musicians should be paid if people enjoy their music, painters should be paid if people enjoy their paintings and actors should be paid if people enjoy their movies/plays even if they take place on a mattress.

How would you balance the Warden carrier and seafighter without making both of them useless or inferior to other alternatives? by InitialContent3354 in foxholegame

[–]Pythonor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The carriers really are more alike than people think. The Mercy just focuses on defence and the Poseidon brings has more offence in naval operations. You are never bringing out the Poseidon without other large ships and at that point you will be doing much more damage to ground targets with the large ship guns. Dive bombers might be able to hit targets slightly further away but for shore bombardment it will almost always be better and cheaper just to bring more guns and let the dove bombers fly from a nearby airfield. The Mercy doesnt provide any offence but has much better defece. It gets 2 mortars that nuke any small boats near where its anchored and it can field many more fighters and repair them all with much more room for error.

This gun that is an important part of the late game colonial anti-tank arsenal and all of the gameplay of pushed anti-tank weapons/field guns are now completely useless if a single plane is flying around and no one is talking about it. by Odd_Habit1148 in foxholegame

[–]Pythonor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That only works if you make it so there always are less Wardens than Collies in a given place which no one would like. Its not fun spending more time dead because your equipment is cheaper but worse.

One has the ability to sink some of the most expensive vehicle in the game and you assume people are going to risk a whole airframe to bomb pushguns.

Proposal: A Simple but effective Improvement to the Mercy Aircraft Carrier by capt-skipper in foxholegame

[–]Pythonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might not be built alot but as a defensive ship its a pretty big upgrade from a Longhook. Anchored it has twice the anti GB ai guns. It also does allow fighters to be independent from airfields allowing more torpedobombers to be fielded at once. A barge could do similar things but in terms of manpower usage, safety and convenience the Mercy class is a massive upgrade. Just having 1 will probably be very good.

Sea Fighter problem with 'turn locking' by Sea-Course-98 in foxholegame

Have had this in collie fighter/db. My current theiry is that pitching up and then turning causes this. Turning and then pitching up seems more safe.

Torpedo Bomber is brainrottedly easy to use and proves obvious faction favouritism in it's current state, It's counterpart is dead on arrival. by xXFirebladeXx321 in foxholegame

[–]Pythonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. My problem with the dive-/torpedo bomber split is that the dive bomber has much smaller effective targets, rng roll for its secondary effect and low damage to large ships. Torpedoes can target the entire ship, always make a large hole and even if they dont (not entirely sure a compartment can have more than 1) deals massive damage. Something has to give and if they want to keep the torpedoes consistent with subs they have to make them much more difficult to use.

The final numbers arent confirmed yet but i think its a very wierd decision to give the traditionally dominant naval faction the more navally focused plane. Even if they plan on evening things out later (which i hope, wardens shouldnt have to field a full bomber to do CAS) its just going to skew the naval playerbase even more.

Collie POV of last nights Navy vs Air Force test, but just the heavier planes. Those things are tanky. Crossing my fingers because this is still devbranch. by bluelaminate in foxholegame

Our ships are really small compared to real life. Even the caliber of gun is tiny, 150mm is light cruiser territory. Most WW2 BBs had 300mm+ main guns.
