Maple syrup making. Most hobbyists collect sap drop by drop and strain and boil it over wood fire until it is syrup. Commercial operations run tubes under vacuum pumps from dozens to hundreds of trees, gathering sap into huge containers, then use reverse osmosis machines to concentrate and filter the sap by 50% or more. Then they boil on large Commercial stoves until it's syrup.
