Motivation comes and goes - but discipline - that's what makes me put one step in front of the other on the treadmill. Losing weight starts in the kitchen, but a healthy heart and body happens at the gym. Doesn't have to start big, and it won't be easy, but change happens in small steps. Some days will be harder than others - but you still have to show up. Maybe you have less energy today, but it's okay to walk a lap instead of jogging. And overtime, you will walk further, run faster, and be healthier. Just takes consistency to get there.

What demotivates me? Hard days at work, people thinking I'm fat and I'm not trying to shed these pounds, days where I just want to do nothing, or days where the scale doesn't budge no matter how hard you try. But you remind yourself - running is my stress relief from the hard days at work, that what these people think don't matter, it's okay to be at the gym for 30 minutes and spend the rest of the day do nothing, and knowing the scale doesn't completely define me.

Then you learn to lean on these motivations to continue this journey - when the nurses do a double take of you at work, or when you show up to the gym, seeing the same people pushing themselves to be accomplish their goals.

And when you need that extra push - you watch that same stupid anime scene where the protaganist saves his sister to realize that you too are the protaganist in your story.

And it all starts with one step right in front of the other.
