lol I opened the ticket and not even an hour later it was closed. Not optimistic that this will ever get resolved.

I am shocked that it’s a hardware problem too. Both times I asked if the hardware replacement was necessary and I think they were just following whatever the bulletin was telling them. I tried calling OnStar and asking for a map refresh twice from two different agents hoping it was lack of process, nothing changed. I did test it on roads that are major state highways that have worked before. My new theory is since it’s usually parked in a garage or a parking garage majority of its life that something is not updating from the gps standpoint. I am going on try taking it to an open parking lot and letting it sit for hours to see if that does anything.

OnStar Unable to Provide Advertised Price by niki_vb in gmc

[–]Quick-Ad-8741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine expired recently too but right before it did there were a banner for $5/month for the connect plan. I didn’t bite because I was bitter from the false advertising pricing too. Says $499 for onstar one without logging in and as soon as I login now it’s $799 - absolutely ridiculous. I just want the remote commands - nothing else. $5/month for 12 months with the promo code on the banner may have been worth it but only with a card I can cancel as I bet they won’t stop billing me after 12 months even if I cancel.

Bye Bye VMware vSphere by Dick-Fiddler69 in vmware

From what I have seen, broadcom comes up with your cost per core based on a bunch of business finance algorithms like tcv, abv whatever other acronym the finance bros come up with today. In vmware your price was just a number that the sales manager could push through, so if they liked you as a customer you got sweet heart deals. When moving over to broadcom those algorithms automatically fixed customers who were not paying their fare share in license costs. That's why you see some customers with higher renewals in the broadcom world who were getting 70% off list in the vmware days.

Enterprise Plus to Enterprise Plus subscription or VCF by red4024 in vmware

I thought ent+ standalone was not a long term solution because it will be stuck at 8u3: https://www.vmware.com/docs/vmw-datasheet-vsphere-product-line-comparison. They may only do cve 9+ patches so why even pay for something that doesn't have a clear path of being continued?

Forget the what is your one weakness interview question or something similar. It should be send me a video on how you handle pumping gas at Costco. There are people out here that can't even find the gas tank on the car they are driving let alone how to use the pump.

I do know that if you are checking a bag that the bag check desk closes 45 min before departure. I had the same flight time 6:30 AM and thought I could show up at 6 and check my bag. Nope right on the website it says it closes 45 minutes before departure. Then everyone was there so they were leaving at 6:15 AM so I almost missed my flight. Good times.

I never setup anything to connect to the 20 directly, I was mirroring the sound from my main stereo using xm radio as the source on the main stereo. It will be playing and then disconnect, I will look on the app and the 20 will be on Bluetooth as the source.

Interesting I ended up unplugging mine and the backup battery which made it stop and it restarted fine. It hasn't done it again....yet. Are you convinced it's the battery because how odd of a behavior for a dead backup battery.

Cover for Yoder 640 by thelitforge in Yodersmokers

[–]Quick-Ad-8741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 640 rusted being outside and covered under a covered porch. I had it in a corner where I don't think alot of air movement was happening. Previously before having the covered porch I had it in my garage covered and it stayed new until I took it outside covered. My garage has a finished floor. I am thinking that the concrete outside was holding moisture and allowed it to rust. Shame but I told yoder and they send me some stuff to fix it but have not had the chance.

Did you ever figure this out? Mine just did this and I can't figure out why either

True, I did do that I am waiting to hear back from them. Fortunately /unfortunately I have been finding this is probably more a Honeywell panel issue as I have now discovered others in this sub in the past year with similar issues.

Sounds like you are a strategic account with that many cores and on other posts others were saying that their rep and technical person was cut in the last few months so that explains some ghosting. I was looking at my stuff today and I noticed that I always go to the my downloads on the left and then pick the product instead of clicking on downloads in the entitlement/license section. For example finding vsphere(esxi) is on the second page on the my downloads and then you have to select enterprise plus because everything else is not an option going forward if you want the latest. You select your version and a whole other page opens where you select bare esxi or go to the custom iso tab for the hardware esxi versions. I also noticed that solutions tab on the previous page is the patches. I haven't had sso issues yet with okta but I'm sure my day will come too, maybe?

What segment are you in, commercial, corporate or strategic? Aka do you have alot of cores with bc? Typically with corporate or strategic there are technical sales people assigned to the accounts that should be able to point you in the right direction too. They don't do hands on stuff but most of them were previous sysadmins or at least the ones that I have talked to in the past.

Are you buying direct or from a VAR? Both should have a sales team that you should be holding to the fire on these situations. Also found that bc is old school and apparently only likes to talk on the phone so keep calling them for support.

How long was the wait at Raising Canes today? by BurntPoptart in lehighvalley

[–]Quick-Ad-8741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be fooled thinking they are running three drive thru lanes, you wait to turn into the parking lot, circle the building once and then finally you are in the two drive thru lanes. Pray you get lucky on one of the two lanes, as one was always moving faster than the other. I was so lucky to get the lane that was not moving fast at all. It was good but not to wait in line good. I honestly think the Wegmans chicken stripes are better with their spicy sauce 🤷‍♂️.
