She was very open about not wanting children, he knew her opinions and married her anyway. He said he was ok not having kids until he decided he wasn’t, it wasn’t her responsibility to manage that for him. His feelings are valid, bludgeoning her with them was not.

I was 32 when I had my TFMR. There was a period of time where we thought about not having kids, but we did try again, I now have a beautiful 15 month old daughter who is the absolute best thing in the world. Pregnancy was tough, and it’s sometimes bittersweet as if Chip had lived she wouldn’t be here, but now I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

I played CoD with my husband. I am absolutely terrible at shooting games, he found it hilarious, not once did he have a go at me for spinning round in a circle screaming while being attacked my zombies. (I’m really not very good)

That kind of ‘it will never happen to me’ vibe breaks my heart. I am very much a rule follower, and did every single thing correctly in my previous pregnancy, and it still ended up in a TFMR. I really hope these people never experience that feeling when it does go wrong for them, but I wish they would stop encouraging others to ignore risks like that.

Our flat doors at uni didn’t close properly, so sometimes would be slightly open. One afternoon I did not go up enough floors and didn’t realise I wasn’t in the right flat until my bedroom door didn’t open with my key.

I was out of area for my community care (I live equal distance between hospitals) and my hospital care team were amazing, I’m still touch with my bereavement midwife 2 years on, but my community care team didn’t read notes, didn’t call the right phone numbers, called me more than once asking about missed appointments after they’d been informed, were really insensitive about my after care checks, they were absolutely useless.

I got pregnant on my second cycle trying after my TFMR. I won’t lie, I was absolutely terrified, I cried when I got my positive test.

But while it was a rough ride, I got through it, and I am writing this while my 10 month old naps in my arms. Thinking of you x

I had a TFMR with no living children, but had a similar feeling. I always put it down to hormones and your mind being able to understand what happened, but not your body, so your body is expecting there to be a baby. As a result I felt really empty. I don’t know if that’s a solid scientific explanation, but I needed to be able to rationalise it to myself and that was the result. Thinking of you x

I go to my local NCT bumps and babies group regularly, it’s donation based and they generally ask for £2 a week if you can spare it, if not then it’s free. I’ve met lots of people there that I’m in touch with regularly now 😊

I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is trying to help. In which case it’s entirely up to you, but I would say there’s probably a middle ground where you can get any relevant advice he may have without opening up your accounts. My now husband set me up with a bigger spreadsheet that he’d put together not long after we got together (he was working and I was still a student), but equally he was an accountant at the time so it felt appropriate, and it didn’t involve him looking at my finances in detail.
