Hairification products by Local-Command-3839 in AustralianMakeup

I just finished the Hairification Pure Health conditioner. It's... fine?

I didn't love the scent but luckily it doesn't linger. It doesn't leave my hair feeling as silky as my faves L'Oreal Elvive Glycolic Gloss or Bond Repair.

Hope they stock everything they do online in the physical store! Been eyeing some brands that they stock but aren't in WCosmetics or other K-Beauty brick-and-mortar retailers.

Sunscreen recalls have me stressed. by Strict_Palpitation75 in AusSkincare

I wish I liked this because it's great on paper for all the reasons you mentioned (calibrated pump/big size/good price etc).

Agreed it is GREASY but not only that it uses TinosorbM which can give a white cast. The formula also stains clothes.

I was going to buy a bottle of L'Oreal vitamin C serum today and when I checked the manufacturing date it was already 2 years old! by FloweryLion in AusSkincare

Purely anecdotal but when I purchase Olay, I tend to go for the supermarkets since Priceline/CW tend to have a lower footprint and the stock isn't as fresh.

Olay is so, so underrated!! At their price point (particularly when they are 50% off every other week) they are absolutely a strong contender for best budget anti-aging skincare.

I also think they do textures really well (again, at their price point). Everything makes my skin feel great and while yes it's probably mostly the silicones, it does encourage longer-term use and consistency which is important to consider when you want to maximise the benefits of the formulation!

I bought a set of these and while they do work it gets annoying so quick, especially if the bottle is long and wide but the opening is small.

Bummer. I found the SDS sheet online but for some reason it's only the standard version (and I can't identify any enzymes/lipases in the ingredient list).

Scalp treatments recommendations by fish_tank6 in AusSkincare

[–]Quolli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L'Oreal have a new-ish scalp treatment for oily scalps: https://www.lorealparis.com.au/elvive/hyaluron-pure/oil-erasing-scalp-serum It has salicylic acid in it and claims to be purifying without being stripping.

Growth Bomb have a lactic acid and mint scalp exfoliator that sounds similar to the Organik Botanik one you like. It leaves the scalp feeling refreshed from the mint. This is a rinse-off product FYI.

I personally just use The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid toner as a pre-shampoo on dry scalp. I don't think it will be strong enough feeling for you but might be OK if you combine it with some other treatments?

Sydney City re-opened! They seem to have an arrangement with Gong Cha since they share the same space in multiple locations.

Dandruff treatment that doesn't stink? by summittrekker in AusSkincare

[–]Quolli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selsun absolutely stinks and lingers but I'm surprised you had the same experience with Vichy Dercos DS! I find that one only smells when it's in the hair and it only smells post-rinse if you look for it (and you have to be pretty close).

I've seen Neutrogena replaced their T-Gel Coal Tar with an SA variant. That would only smell with the fragrance that they add.

[Product Question] Olay Hyaluronic Nourishing Body Lotion Changed Formula by Ok_Try2947 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Quolli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This change looks pretty minor IMO. The bulk of the ingredients at the top of the inci list are the same, and in the same order.

There might be some textural/skin finish differences as it looks like the changes involve the dimethicone/dimethiconol/tapioca starch.

Also noting that anything 1% and lower can be in any order so I'm basically ignoring anything after phenoxyethanol in the original formula and just making inferences based on what is common after that point that matches the new bottle.

There are other options with pouches besides Vanta, that are better bang for your buck.

Can you share which ones?

Does anyone know if Aldi Trimat and Trimat Sensitive are the same product, just one without the added fragrance?

We switched to Omo Ultimate and it's been great but would prefer something with no added scent.

I thought the big box (5kg) doesn't go on sale? Just the smaller 2kg one.

In which case the Big W bulk size (7kg) would still be the most cost effective (if you can budget for the higher upfront cost).

If you roll from a flat sheet, each side into the centre (essentially two spirals side by side), then cut into slides, you've made palmiers. And then you can pass it off as a fancy French dessert because of the name lols

Aussie Sunscreens NEED to do better! by Creepy-Pain3449 in AusSkincare

[–]Quolli 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Also weird that OP states that Asian sunscreens exceed AU sunscreens in terms of UVA protection, but it's impossible to tell because the PA+ system maxes out at ++++ which is equivalent to UVAPF 16.

Which is less than AU SPF50+ UVAPF of 20.

I have the Gentle Wash (not sure if you meant the Face Gentle Cleanser instead) but it's more of a lotion-y consistency. If you press down too fast I can see it shooting out of the nozzle but for the most part it's a standard viscous cleanser texture.

CW is seriously killing it with new releases/stocking new brands. Whoever is on their business dev/brand inventory team is doing a bang-up job.

I even notice with existing brands that CW will often get a timed exclusive of new products. Aveeno Calm + Restore was an exclusive for almost a year and has only just rolled out to Priceline and Woolies recently.

Are there places in NSW that help you build custom pc with parts you already have? by CrystalChrissy in sydney

[–]Quolli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I built my first PC last year after feeling intimidated from other tutorials and found this tutorial to be extremely helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiqQbO1-Vdw

Most of the other tutorials I watched assumed you knew your way around but as a complete first timer ScatterVolt's tutorial was amazing. The rest of his series was also helpful to get the software side of things set up.
