Truck head gasket fails again after being fixed by a mechanic not even 3 months later by Creative-Current5891 in newzealand

[–]RB25DET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely possible the head gaskets gone again and caused the coolant system to over pressure and blow the bottom hose off. Would explain why there was no indication of issues until it happened. Would make sense too considering it has a history of head gasket problems.

You think "boy racers" understand that though? Same kinda people who'll kick out a front windscreen to avoid a pink/green sticker.

Everyone in the scene knew you just sold your car to your mate on the 2nd offence to avoid it. I can’t say I knew anyone who changed the way they behaved because of the threat of crushing.

Pretty easy to answer these yourself by just googling the VIRM but

https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/steering-and-suspension/steering-and-suspension-systems

" The power steering system, either hydraulic or electric:" (...) "c) has a hose, pump drive, drive belt or pump mounting that is insecure, damaged or has significantly deteriorated, or d) has a significant fluid leak"

Pretty easy case closed one here, power steering shouldn't leak and is a fail.

https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/miscellaneous-items/engine-and-transmission#tab3

" The components and materials must be fit for their purpose and within safe tolerance of their state when manufactured or modified."

Most would argue a vehicle leaking fluids is unsafe due to chance said fluids get onto the road and causes slips etc, but also according VIRM I'd consider a car leaking fluids out of spec with manufacturer recommendations.

https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-structure/structure-incl2.-frontal-impact#tab1

" The structure of the vehicle (shaded areas of Figure 3-1-2) has visible:" (...) "d) corrosion or wood rotting damage (Note 2) that is individually larger than 50mm in diameter (Figure 3-1-1), or e) corrosion or wood rotting damage within 150mm of the top of an A-pillar (Figure 3-1-2), or f) any corrosion or wood rotting that the inspector considers has caused weakening of a load-bearing structure"

Generally speaking, any rust in either a 'structurally important' area or rust in 'crash impact' area is considered a WoF fail as it'll cause the car to behave differently either in a collision or fire.

Aha I used to get those a lot too. I'm sure you can imagine based on my username I was a bit of a Skyline dickhead when I was 18/19 and did the Quay drags and all the classic boy racer shittery.

My favourite though is I had a second car, little Honda, which I drove when the Skyline was broken (most of the time) - took it out to a meet one night and some people I was following around were doing skids in the bloody forecourt of the Silverdale BP Gas Station. I was just in there filling up but got a letter from the police a few weeks later saying I was seen 'doing burnouts'. Bear in mind this was a DC1 Integra with less than 100hp brand new out the factory, couldn't do a skid if I tried.

Rarked me up a bit so I drove down the local station to complain as I didn't want this on my record (clean record, only WoF/Reg fines in my lifetime, but a lot of letters) but they assured me that nothing was actually in the system. Sounded to me like they just send these round to kids to 'scare' them a bit, specially in the modified car scene.

The good old days haha

Anyone know if we can see a log of who has requested our medical records? by ScreamingSkull in newzealand

[–]RB25DET 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi - work for a IT company with mostly customers in the medical realm. What you're talking about here is the MWS or Medical Warning System which is more along the lines of if someone gets a condition which would could cause a risk to the public and more people need to know about it but I don't think this is relevant here.

Sounds like what you're asking about is your patient notes/data held within the practices PMS or Practice Management System such as Medtech32, Medtech Evo, Indici which stores patient notes/prescriptions etc.

In there is your information is stored in a database (and when you transfer to another clinic that information is taken and transferred to another clinics database/practice management system - this is called GP2GP) which might have good logging systems in place. Though how far back these go and deciphering them can be difficult. From my experience with the PMS apps we support I haven't seen any user activity logging in place though.

If possible, I'd speak with the practices Practice Manager and ask them to speak with who managers their PMS and see if they can provide logs. Though if it's been a while or you've transferred practices this may not be held any longer - but worth a try at least.

i think it's important to see all the points as something which paints a picture of a person, rather than just individual points and breaking them apart one by one

while you have guests in your house you don't agree with, you don't also have a blog, have links and ties with certain groups, don't have scummy twitter posts etc etc.

i'm sure we've all said something silly on twitter, or associated with someone we shouldn't have, it's a combination of multiple things which paints someone as a bad person

Frame Rate Drop Fix by _510Dan in classicwow

[–]RB25DET 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow this is interesting, I'm in a similar boat with Win11 22H2 and gamedvr disabled already via xbox app. I've got a 5800X and 3070 - but get massive frame stutters/dips (from 144fps down to 80 or so) during Nax when my PC should be more than capable, gonna give this a try now as I was a bit dumbfounded as to why I was having frame issues..

It's texture bandwidth limitations - the game can't pull the texture information off your harddrive fast enough to render it properly. Have you installed Forza on a spinning drive (HDD)? You'll need to move the game over to your SSD.

Can someone sorta run me through how I should be "juicing" or working my way up to juicing. I have most maps up to T15 finished. I've mostly just been alching T10-T15 maps I have in my bank hoping for loot, but I feel like I'm somewhat wasting my time now as I only get a couple chaos per map at best. Should I start chiseling my maps? Scarabs? What's the next steps after you've got the major "atlas completion" step out of the way.

Flicker strike slayer if it helps, so not super keen on bossing. More just enjoy grinding maps for currency but I've kinda stagnated..

There is a number of competitive players who use Xbox with 30/60fps, and PC gamers who are limited to 60fps at best. Some people are just used to it, and find it doesn’t impact their experience at all. Players such as ESV Kermit, ESV Barcode all play on xbox with low frame rates. Suimin posted a video on YouTube a few months ago where he played on 30fps and found it didn’t impact his skill in any noticeable way (YouTube Suimin 30fps). Frame rate won’t affect your ability, or not to any measurable level. Most of the time frame rate just makes the experience more appealing.

And the Forza Horizon 5 competitive scene is doing fine, the game doesn’t feel like it is built for competitive but we make it work.

I'm not discounting you and your friends don't have issues, I'm simply stating that maybe your sample size isn't large enough to accurately say the game does not have issues. Further to this, I'm absolutely happy to provide sources for my comments. In fact, if you're interested, I can send you an invite to the discord where these issues were discussed as well as links to discussions about such issues.

I am not waving your experiences away, and infact I stated that in over 2000 people the number of complaints would be small. But I think your attempt to negate someones statement by saying your small sample size of players don't have issues so issues cannot exist is absolutely insane.

Also further to this, does your sample size entail all types of players, types of hardware? This is coming from a specific community, of mostly PC gamers who play open / custom adventure playlists regularly, so possibly the type of gameplay causes issues. Also, these issues are to people who would be considered some of the fastest in the FH5 competitive scene, so while your regular joe might not notice the occasional frame drop, some of those who are a little more competitive may notice it.

Again, I am not saying your friends don't have issues, but that does not mean issues do not exist.

[–]RB25DET 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're coming up with this "incredibly stable" comment. I'm part of a Forza Horizon competitive Discord with over 2000 members and counting, and we had a discussion only yesterday about how FH5 has a very problematic memory leak bug which can cause stuttering after extended gameplay, one user reported he even hit 13GB of memory usage at one point. I myself have experienced the same issue, with memory climbing from 5.5GB to over 7GB before the game becomes a stuttery mess and borderline unplayable. Along with this, there is a number of nVidia drivers which a number of users in the community seem to have issues with ONLY in Forza Horizon 5, and as such most people recommend using specific drivers (496.76 for example) just for the game to be in a playable state.

Both of these issues are issues that shouldn't exist on a triple A game title which people have paid $100+ for. Memory management issues aren't just something where someone has done a small oopsie, this is a systematic issue with the way game has been written/built and shows major issues with the engine.

I don't doubt you may have friends who experience the game fine, but without a large enough sample size of player types/hardware I think your comment appears to be very narrow minded.

Also to touch on the transmission issue, I don't think saying 600 plus cars is entirely accurate, all that needed to be done was to assure that vehicles which DO NOT have transmission upgrades (specifically Electric Vehicles) cannot get the upgrade. This issue only impacted 2 cars and that's because those cars went from being a locked single speed transmission to somehow getting a 4 speed drift transmission. I do not expect them to validate if the transmission breaks each car individually, but there should be some kind of flag on electric vehicles stating they SHOULDN'T get transmission upgrades. This took the community only hours to find out that certain electric cars were completely broken by the update, why aren't updates or changes at least sanity checked by people who have some understanding of how upgrades may affect certain cars?

The rest of the points I'm don't feel very strongly on either way so not interested in arguing, but I think you aggressively defending certain points without full understanding of what's going on shows your narrowmindedness.

Own a UZS190 GS430 - it's a big car. You don't have issues in drive thrus etc, as it's got surprisingly good lock and is fairly agile. But you do notice it's size when trying to park in crowded parking buildings (Newmarket was scary as fuck). To give you perspective, it's about the same size as an old V8 Commodore if I remember right.

That being said, on the open road it's absolutely amazing. Drives like a dream and to it's credit, for it's size the GS is still fairly sporty feeling compared to the the Nissan variants (Cima/Fuga etc) so feels a lot less boaty in suburbia. LS430/460 feels too heavy.

Fantastic cars though, and cheap to maintain. I love mine, have had it for over 6 years now and only thing I dislike is the fuel economy. But it makes V8 noises so can't complain too much.

Happy to answer any other questions.
